    Respectfully, that’s fucking terrible.

Even with Rudy not playing to the standard he set in years prior he’s still worth so much more than that shit pot of crap.

Edit: AND I read the pick wrong. WOLVES are giving up a pick in this proposal!? Lord help me.

Lmao. Here get rid of one guy and take on 4 when you have 1 roster spot.

Fort Worth Star Telegram does not know ball confirmed.

This is so incredibly bad it’s funny. Connelly would hang up the phone immediately if Presti tried this shit

The Fort Worth Star Telegram hot take machine strikes again

In their defense, if they had put forth a reasonable trade scenario I wouldn’t be reading about the Ft Worth Star Telegram this morning.

I get what Utah fans had to go through now with the media perception of Rudy.

Rudy had a down year to his standards no doubt but he was still one of the best defensive centers in the NBA last year. Wolves were equivalent to the 2nd best defensive team in the NBA with Rudy on the floor and 23rd when he was off it. It’s a joke he got 0 All Defensive team votes.

The wolves overpaid for the Rudy they have gotten so far but let’s not act like Rudy was still an elite presence on defense last year he was just not generational on that end like in years past.

This trade annoys me because it accomplishes nothing for the wolves, they give up a pick what is not even possible based on trading picks in back to back year and the trade also doesn’t create enough cap space to sign another player, so they give up a still elite defender and a pick for “cap space” when the cap space still can’t be used to add good players.

    Media is dumb sometimes

It’s to save the wolves from the cap hell they’re currently tied to in a year or two. I don’t like the trade but getting the money back to be able to afford ant kat and Jaden long term while still keeping the rest of the team flexible holds some value

  9. Ordinary-Hopeful

    Wolves don’t have a 2024 1st to trade.

  10. ABentPlant

This might be the worst trade I’ve ever seen

    >and a 2024 lottery-protected first

This right here makes me question the validity of this. Even if we wanted/needed to salary dump Rudy, we don’t need to add value to move his contract.

  12. enemycap420

Why even is a Texan newspaper proposing trades for OKC and us??

  13. howsaboutyou

Why in the world would *we* be giving up a 1st? This is hilariously awful.

I wouldn’t do this trade even if OKC was the one giving us a lottery protected 1st.

  14. dogfosterparent

We simply have to be willing to pay the tax for one year or we’re going to get nothing if we want to trade Rudy. teams will know it’s just a salary dump and send us offers like this. If we pay it for one year, then he’s an expiring deal and won’t be too painful to get rid of and it will mean we can look for at least a little value and have some negotiating power next offseason if things don’t work out roster-wise.

  15. Skol_Vikes_2021

I would unironically take this trade in January or February if he’s underperforming

  16. FlyingScissor

Wolves cannot trade the 2024 draft pick until draft night. Also Poku sucks.

  17. kmelby33

Can we even move that pick, and also, why??

  18. They jus want us to develop players so everyone else can come and take them

  19. BlacksmithWise9553

Screw that. Rudy still a dawg. I thought he played very good D on Jokic in the playoffs too.

  20. popfgezy

Even with his lowered value I’m sure somebody would be offering at least two firsts + filler for Gobert.

  21. WrinkledRandyTravis

Yeah let’s give away one of our last remaining first rounders for a salary dump that makes perfect sense

  22. Andy_Wiggins

This is, quite literally, one of the most asinine trade proposals I’ve ever seen.

Not only is it ludicrous, but it isn’t even *legal*. The Wolves cannot trade their 24 first (they can trade the rights to the player after the pick is made, so like 9 months from now).

  23. FiveByFive555555

This is insane. And even if they wanted to, Twolves don’t have a first to trade, right?
