[Jackson] As @Anthony_Chiang and I, and others, have kept reporting Portland disinterest in engaging Heat all summer, the question I had was why Heat hasn’t kept calling them. I sent this Windy explanation to an involved source today and was told it’s 100 percent right. Hmmm.

Pat Riley wasn’t content with the discount Dame was getting them, guy had to fuck around further for godamn Jovic and JJJ lmao.

  2. kaiWarDun

miami fans are going to be so sad if they don’t get dame

  3. Miami with “well, I never liked you anyways!” maneuver. Classic.

  4. Weird-Smoke5090

Hahahahahahahaha. We are officially in the Miami finding out stage.

  5. moons_a_skull

They’re obviously desperately trying to generate leverage

    i’m not moved

Its so obnoxious when two teams use the media to negotiate a deal. It happens all the time, and at this point I hope everyone just downvotes (or not post in the first place) shit that isn’t new information.

Like this is clearly a “source” from the Heat to Windhorst. At this point we dont fucking care. Get it done, or dont.

Miami has like two guys picked in the lottery on their roster. One is untouchable. Their brass knows they’re not in a position to make an adequate offer. Who’s young with high end starter potential on that roster?

They’ve won fewer than 40 games three times in 20 years and nobody treats their first round picks like other first rounders. They’ll kick the tires, just in case, but they’re not trying to justify their offer as “the best Portland can get” like the folks here are.

can someone please explain what this means? im so lost

  9. Idk why people think Miami a team that just went to the NBA Finals got to unload the whole war chest on this. If Portland wants to get a lower offer then what the Heat willing to part with cool. Cronin legit sees the writing on the wall he’s probably not going to be retained when the next owner comes through, and their franchise guy getting shipped off for an underwhelming package is sure going to sit well with the fans and other NBA players.

Damn, Heat really dropped the ball on this one. Why they ain’t keep calling Portland? Windy got it right though, 100 percent. Hmmmm…

  11. Please just trade Dame to another team that is not Miami at this point, the comedy of reactions would be hilarious

i was told something and reported it and im now reporting im being told what i was told was correct

Dametime used to be cool. Now it feels like the dmv or purgatory.

Seems like maybe Miami isn’t ready to give up every last piece they have. Seems like clippers aren’t willing to give up a top tier taco truck for Harden.

Did these guys even ask if the team they demand to be traded to is willing to make it happen?

  15. YourWorstNightmare9

All because Pat Riley doesn’t want to give up both Jovic and Jacquez in the deal JFC JFC.

  16. fuckmacedonia

No one wants to engage the heat in Portland, especially in the summer!

  17. pr1ncejeffie

Someone tell Dame that his crush doesn’t want him like that.

  18. Critical-Adhole

Portland really has so little leverage here it’s gotta be killing Cronin

  19. Mysterious-Clock-744

“I’m right and my anonymous source proves it”

  20. donkeybrainedhooper

Ouch, Dame wants Miami but they’re not that interested…
