[Jaynes] I have been told Deandre Ayton could end up in Portland… for Damian Lillard.

When asked by a follower if Portland’s chances at getting Deandre Ayton are dead, Jaynes said the following:

> I have been told he could end up in Portland — for Dame. But who knows at this point. Blazers would be wise to move Dame before Media Day.

Would be an insane turn of events if Portland sends Lillard to Phoenix. Would be even more insane to see how Phoenix pulls something like this off.

**Credentials since he’s not a well-known source:**

*Dwight Jaynes is a journalist and sportswriter in Portland, Oregon. He was a sports columnist with The Oregonian newspaper for several years. In 2001, he left to become president and write a column in the fledgling Portland Tribune and to do a daily radio show for KPAM, a talk radio station owned by the same company as the Tribune.*

I’m more inclined to believe the Suns guy and his details since he’s much more tuned into them than any Por guys is to us

Ayton for Dame is still better than Herro for Dame. We still need picks though.

  3. sean_buttcannon

EXTREME doubt. This sounds like insane bs. How would they even do that? They don’t have any picks. This is laughable

  4. Gritty_gutty

They’d need to send other pieces to a third team in exchange for that team sending us picks/young players.

Ayton is not nearly as valuable as the max Heat package of 3 firsts, 3 swaps, a second, herro Martin (to be redirected), JJJ, and Jovic.

I don’t see how Booker, ~~Paul~~, Beal, Lillard and KD coexist. One of them would have to move…

Edited since I’m way out of date on PHX roster moves apparently.

OP is the ultimate karma whore, how much you get paid to do this pal?

Dwight Jaynes hasn’t been relevant to anyone or anything for like 20+ years

    He doesn’t know *shit*

  8. AmitN_Music

By who Dwight? We’ve all been told this at this point lol.

I dont think its even possible between only the Suns and us because almost no one except Ayton can be traded yet…

Not a Blazers fan, not making any guarantees, got decently plugged in sources claiming Ayton-Nurk is pretty damn done. Not sure what else is attached

The heat is picking up (pun intended)

If Cronin really is able to force Pat Riley to go all in and get us the maximum deal OR actually get a legit non-Herro offer from another team, I will give him my respects. I have heard Miami was a done deal this entire time

  12. realBahubali

We get rid of nurk and get hella picks and I’m fine with this.

How happy would people be with an OG + Ayton and draft capital for Dame, trade at this point?

  14. JayChucksFrank

Dwight hasn’t been an insider since Damon was here. He doesn’t know shit. Take his thoughts at face value.

It’s not even financially possible without one of Booker, Durant or Beal involved so just write that possibility off.

Dwight Jaynes has me blocked on Twitter for saying that I wasn’t going to invite him to my birthday party.

  17. Ayton is one of the worst assets in the league, so of course Portland will make a move for him. Beyond fed up at this stage.

Dwight Jaynes isn’t a well known source? He’s been covering the team for more than 20 years…

Dwight Jaynes is an old windbag who hasn’t been relevant in 15 years. Pay him no mind.
