Obviously there have been so many different reports from different guys, making it more difficult to get a grasp of situation. But based on these reports below:
* Gambo(Suns reporter) saying “I don’t think it’s the Heat but I won’t rule them out. Heard 3-4 teams in on this” https://x.com/gambo987/status/1705327927968358440?s=46
* Woj saying recent talks didn’t involve Miami.
* Haynes saying Miami doesn’t know what the Blazers want and they haven’t engaged since Summer league
If you sum up all these reports, my guess is that Portland, trying to maximize their leverage, is
1) *completely* blocking the Heat all summer
2) Very actively talking to other teams in recent days (e.g. Raptors or Bulls) and receiving a best offer from each team
3) And will eventually engage with the Heat later, saying “We got this offer from this team, if you can’t outbid this offer, we’re sending Dame to this team.”
I think we’re between stage 2 and 3 right now. I think the Blazers will engage with the Heat after the Blazers know what they can get from other teams, and show it to Miami. Whether the Heat will try to outbid the other team’s offer or not is upto Pat Riley.
Not to be a doomer but all these recent reports from Gambo, Woj, and others are not that encouraging at all.

The way i see it would be stupid for toronto or chicago to make offers beyond what miami is offering because if he turns around in two months and says ok now send me to miami, im gonna make the locker room hell, then they basically gotta take whatever miami offers at that point. But teams do stupid things sometimes so we’ll see. Their hope would be to convince him to buy in but thats a very expensive gamble.
I think its clear that the plan was to lie about a deal being close with some mystery team to try to get Miami to panic and offer Jaquez and Jovic (apparently we have offered neither to this point)
We didn’t panic and look what happened! That “deal” fell through and now the Raptors are signaling they won’t include Scottie
I like the spot we’re in, everyone on their side is running around with their heads cut off trying to manufacturer and ounce of leverage any way they can lol
Here’s to hoping things change, the past 24 hours have been very brutal. No matter what happens though, I’m riding with this team.
Heat offer bad
Blazer try to get not bad offer
Maybe Heat offer good later
What’s going on is that the Heat don’t think Dame brings nearly the value that y’all imagine he does.
The rollercoaster this sub had was unreal
I just want to watch basketball now I’m done with the transactions
It’s none of that. I actually have decent? sources on this but it’s basically chaos.
Essentially what’s been going on is that there was concurrently two separate deals going on that would lead to the Heat getting Dame
Basically
A fourth team that got revealed to be Indy wants the Heat Dame offer with Herro
Portland doesn’t want Herro but wants Ayton
Phoenix wants a Myles Turner
And Miami wants Dame
So what you’re having right now is basically a pipeline deal (i.e why it’s all sun’s reporters reporting this) where you’re getting Dame funneled to Miami via the Suns trading Ayton, Indy trading Turner then us trading that package over to Indy. So yes everyone is correct because they’re talking sideways because we’re not negotiating with Phoenix. We’re negotiating with Indy.
But apparently this all fell through or hit a snag yesterday but Gambo is pretty certain the final thing will be this.
