Would this work as a solution to stop player entitlement where they sign a super max and then request a trade right after to a specific team?
If a player signs a contract where he gets paid more by his current team than what others can offer and he is traded to another team, the team trading for that player takes the full cap hit of the contract while the players salary gets reduced to what other teams could have offered. Ie dame signs a new 60m contract per year with the blazers and is traded during the length of that contract. The team he is traded to has to take the 60m cap hit but dame only gets paid 45m
This disincentivizes players from getting rewarded for “loyalty” and then jumping ship right after while tanking their value like what dame is doing now.

I slightly agree what Casey said that Portland doesn't owe Dame's because they pay his loyalty,but it their fault as well for failing to surround their franchise player with a legit all-star,the best team mate that Dame could had was Lamarcus Aldridge(Cj Mccolumn i guess as well) but they failed to retain him,thats why Dame demanded a trade,it reminesce of what Cleveland did to Lebron during the 1st 7yrs of his career.
