[Houston Men’s Hoops] Giannis Antetokounmpo @Giannis_An34 putting in work with @UHouston GREAT Hakeem Olajuwon @DR34M

Great to see Giannis ignoring the ridiculous stuff that Gilbert Arenas was saying. Players such as LeBron and Kobe have benefited from Hakeem’s tutelage on footwork. Still wild to me that Arenas disparaged the advise of an arguable top 10 player ever and a guy that some people choose as their center in their all-time starting five.

Giannis with an actual post move bag is scary as fuck

Wonder if Dream is trying to recruit him lol. He played a role in convincing Dwight Howard to join the Rockets

  3. CreativityLacking

Dream made sure he went to Houston for it too.

Lebron did this one summer when he was with the Heat, absolutely transformed his post game. If Giannis can make that same jump, shit will be scary.

but didn’t /r/nba say Hakeem was a money grubbing hack who’s a corny loser for charging money…to teach skills that pro athletes can learn themselves??

  6. noplaceinmind

… was there some concern he takes advice from Gilbert Arenas?

imagine gannis with the dream shake

i just shivered at the idea

I thought the Dream was hired as a Rockets trainer exclusively and cannot teach players of other teams but good for both of them if strings were pulled. I love these two stars

Hakeem played for the Raptors. Giannis to Raps confirmed.

Giannis goes to Houston for a weekend to touch up his footwork and the haters are losing their minds lol. I don’t get it. Nobody expects him to turn into Dirk.

Y’all knock him for being a battering ram and then y’all knock him for listening?

All I know is that $50k is chump change to these NBA players with these super max contracts lol.

Hell even to rookie scale deal guys $50k would be chump change.

Hakeem made it into the HOF with his post moves, his market is NBA players, the price he’s asking isn’t a lot compared to what they’re making at all. Gilbert saying shit to no surprise makes no sense and I seriously don’t get how he has a platform that people actually listen to and take serious.

Arenas making Dream out to be some grifter is just the opposite of what he actually is.

When shoe prices were going through the roof with the advent of Jordan’s Jumpman brand – people getting hurt and killed trying to get their hands on them – Hakeem bucked the trend by selling affordable sneakers at Payless so parents didn’t have to take out a loan before Christmas. Hakeem doesn’t own a multi billion dollar shoe business today, but has made more than enough in his career regardless.

Massive respect for making his shoes accessible to average fans, while charging arms and legs to rich, elite athletes wanting to learn from the best

Shit he’s signing with (The University of) Houston.

I feel like Melo should also start doing private workouts like Hakeems’… his midrange footwork and movement is top notch and is still relevant in today’s NBA filled with playmaking big men.. Melo is more face up, Hakeem is more back to basket, both have impeccable footwork.. i imagine Dom Sabonis would elevate his game with Melo’s moves..

Jeezus why is there so much giannis hatred here? Granted, they’re all downvoted comments but still. Y’all stink for hating on a sincere hardworking guy who just wants to improve.

    Hakeems taller than I thought

I see online that he’s referred to as 6’10 when playing and there’s 0 way he’s only 6’10 unless he didn’t shrink with age or people are boosting Giannis’ height
