Predicting Who Will Trade For Damian Lillard

What’s the very latest report about whether or not Lillard will report to training camp for any team he’s traded to? Which team can help facilitate a trade for both Miami & Toronto to get him? Which front office is making the most high-level talent available? And does that impact my prediction of where Dame will end up? Stay tuned.

  1. We're good here. We don't need Dame. We've Dick. 6'8 passer, shooter, anf according to you "Larry Bird abandoned son". We're good. Dame loves to have the ball and shoot. We already had one of those. We don't need another one. Nuff said.

  2. Portland will never trade him. Blazers will force Dame to be a Blazer on a really stinky team until he retires. Portland hates Lillard now.

  3. Dude that first trade sucks for the Suns. Ayton is better than Nurkic and the salaries don't match. The Suns would absolutely need an additional piece or pick for that to go down. The second one with the Raptors and the Suns getting Nurkic and OG is much better.

  4. Why would Portland deal Dame to Toronto for Trent Jr, a former Blazer? He plays SG, a position we don’t need. With Duran from Arizona in the other deal in the same position, he could be a mop up player, because you wouldn’t do that with Trent.
I like the deal with Phoenix. Ayton is better than Nurkic. You trade two albatross contracts for Portland. But what the Blazers need is not only trading Dame and Nurkic, they need bench help. The question is, does Portland want players to bolster the bench or future draft players? I would prefer both, and the reality is the Heat deal doesn’t work unless Herro goes to a different team and the Blazers trade with them.
My issue is I don’t think either the Heat or Blazers organization is being honest and neither is the NBA or Dame himself.
Do the Blazers wait till the All Star Break or deal Dame by training camp? They aren’t playoff contenders and they risk injuries to Dame.
They are hindering the development of Scoot also. Unless you start Scoot and bring Dame off the bench for scoring, the bench won’t improve. You start Ant at SG, and bring in Sharpe with Dame. I’m more worried about front court scoring and who plays. Does Little and Walker get big minutes? How much does Murray play as a rookie? Grant is one starter and who else starts at forward?
Scoot will need a backup point guard if Dame gets hurt or traded, depending on what the team does.
It is time for Portland to improve its defense and bench scoring, and dealing Dame or bringing him in off the bench are the only two options, along with trading Nurkic. He is too injury prone as most Blazer centers are. He is more offensively suited than other centers they’ve used.
The Blazers could use continuity also. It is play the youngsters the entire season without Dame and maybe Nurkic, or continue with Dame and Nurkic and still not make the playoffs. Dame is getting older, which doesn’t help.

  5. This is the only scenario that I see and it is a one shot, one year scenario. Then Raptors have to move off the older hasbeens and onto a Scottie/OG movement. Its’s a little more than you suggest to Suns in or first scenario & a little more to Portland than you suggest in second scenario.

Portland: Deandre Ayton 3yrs, Gary Trent Jr. 1yrs, Chris Boucher 2yrs, 2 first round picks. 1 second rd pick. If Raptors renegotiate their 1-6 protected 2024 pick to spurs they can provide 1st rd picks that fit better with Portlands timeline.
-this trade only decreases Portlands wins by 2 for a team that is going into developmental years. It’s not guard heavy like Miami.

Suns: Jusuf Nurkic 3yrs, Otto Porter Jr. 1yrs, Thaddeus Young 1yrs
-Adds to 2 wins to a win now team

    Raptors: Damian Lillard 3yrs
-this trade gives everyone a secure future. Lillard only has value to a team that needs to fill seats, or a team that is contending. Raptor fill their sits already. & Raptors are not contenders with Lillard there without all its current starting defenders. This suggested team still doesn’t provide a current playoff closer. Potential yes but no confirmation. Siakam and Lillard have both been playoff chokers since 2020.

Any trade involving Scottie, Gradey and OG puts Raptors in a very bad position come next summer especially if Siakam doesn’t make all NBA and decide to move as FA. Lillard wanting a move. Gary moves as FA. Raptors left on empty tank and a Lillard contract only thing to fill it a quarter the way. Horrible scenario. Too risky.

This works. Or take what Miami offers.

  6. Masai woukd never grace for Lilliard … his ego is way bigger than his game … he has led a team to a. Championship and acts like a Diva … Masai has made some incredible moves this off season … there is no chance the Raptors trade for him … he is a selfish player and sucks at defence

  7. I don't care about anything and I love Zach and Deebo but if there is a Chance to take Dame ti CHI Town all Fingers Crossed 🤞

  8. DeMar would be good for Portland as he is a mentor and NBA role model for young players. If a Chicago fan you know exactly what I'm talking about. AC would be good to lead by example and demonstrate playing high level defense in the NBA will keep you in a job, period. Deflections, steals, ball handling and hard work intangibles. Both these unselfish players on reasonable contracts can benefit any rebuilding team with a bit of cash to spare.

So far as my Bulls? Dami would make up for the loss of DeMar's scoring and Ayo and others…while not elite defenders like AC…can patch the hole he leaves "good enough." And in ONE player the Bulls get much of what they need.

I'm not mad at this trade proposal at all.

  9. Lillard is only going to Miami . I know ppl keep talking about blazers gm but you can’t do your best player in history like that and all that talk for the season . I know he’s trying to avoid that

  10. Damian Lillard waited too long to asked for trade and anything team who pick him up is expected to win now right away today win win win win NOW! This man is 34 years old with a contract to be paid $60 million a season that asinine for any team to take on except that team is Lakers or Boston Celtics these teams that are multi championship. Going to a team and not guarantee the championship will be a bust a failure.
