This just happened on NBA Today on ESPN. Marc J Spears, noted reporter for being close to Damian Lillard, just said “All is quiet on the Miami front. Interest from Chicago is waning. The hottest name right now is the Toronto Raptors. Talked to two high ranking team executives that said Toronto is the front-runner for [Damian Lillard].”

Spears says Lillard WILL show up and he WILL play for Toronto if he is traded there.

Why de fuck would Toronto want Dame?

    This is all a smokescreen

  2. Icy-Lime-9760

So the Miami Heat beat writer who said Dame won’t report to Toronto was lying?

  3. bluepineapple42069

“Anyone but the heat please 🙏😭”

  4. everything_raptors

Man if the trade happens without giving up Scottie pascal or OG it would be mindblowing.

Realistically OG would be in the trade though, but if he isn’t…….

  5. SiakamMIP

Masai going to pumpfake or actually shoot this time?

  6. Scope151

Disgruntled star forcing his way out to a sunshine city and being sent to the Raptors instead. Sounds familiar.

  7. YouStillTakeDamage

Toronto coming from out of nowhere to suddenly land Dame would be pretty funny ngl

This makes sense. Masai is desperate because his team is directionless and he’s had multiple blunders recently.

Cronin is desperate because he wants to project power over the situation.

So Masai mortgages his teams future to be a fringe contender and Cronin takes less to spite Dame. Match made in heaven.

Heat take a step back but retain their future and get to continue their prospect development. I trust Pat. Hopefully Portland does a better job building around Scoot than they ever did with Dame. Portland failed when the best teammate Dame had in 11 years was an aging Aldridge

Toronto really only has 2 options after losing in the play-ins : rebuilding around Scottie and Grady, or trying to win now with Siakam OG and Poetl

I don’t really agree with their pursuit for Dame, but I respect it because it’s better than being in no-mans land

Dame Dolla vs Drake, Stripes vs Checks, this gonna be a war

Miami doesn’t care if Dame goes to Toronto, they won’t see that as a threat. As long as he’s not in Boston or with Milwaukee, we’ll be okay.

The fact that it’s a question if Lillard would show up is hilarious. Dude has 4 years left on his contract at like $50M per year. What negotiating power does he have?

  13. Masai looking in the mirror:

Hey good looking, you can do this. You can make trades. Stop talking bs all the time and make a move. You can do it!

  14. HoagieTwoFace

46 wins if Barnes is included in the trade. It makes zero sense to trade for Dame

  15. This saga as made me hate the nba. Please make it stop.

  16. jagerhero

Pat will walk away before getting swindled. Miami will be fine. How much will Toronto have to give up?

  17. spicyfartz4yaman

Dame is not kawhi Masai. This is not a good move 😐

  18. soft-cookie

Means Schroder back to the bench right?

  19. Critical-Adhole

Chicago was always a Cronin fabrication. It made zero sense for them.

I’m just so happy my team is not involved for once with the front runner trade rumors

The question ultimately comes down to…just how committed are the Blazers to trading/keeping Dame. Trading him before camp begins….or keeping him if they don’t get a deal they’re looking for.

Portland and Miami are not in contact. Riley and Arison clearly are comfortable enough with their roster that they are simply holding their line and aren’t willing to put all their chips on the table. That’s been the consistent theme coming from ESPN reporters. Miami doesn’t feel pressure to make a deal, aren’t desperate to do a trade, and aren’t willing to gut their roster for Dame. If that holds than it’s hard to envision a deal with Miami occurring.

Seems like the three team deal stuff has failed to materialize, haven’t heard anything about that in almost a week now since Gambo’s report. Which comes as no surprise as such a deal would’ve been very hard to accomplish, and the Suns actually do value Ayton and are not looking to trade him and not improve as a team.

If Scottie isn’t on the table than this really comes down to just how badly Portland wants to move Dame. Toronto isn’t gonna trade Pascal for him, and both Pascal and OG are expiring and are seeking to test free agency. I doubt Portland trades for an expiring OG, so would the Blazers really accept a Dick/Achiuwa/Trent kind of package? I have a hard time believing that.

Reminiscent of “The Raptors are in driver’s seat for Kawhi Leonard”

The betting odds from BetOnline say:

    BOS 2:1
    PHI 3:1
    TOR 4:1
    CHI 16:1

Some smart guy should say a source told them Boston and become a r/nba celebrity!

  24. DalliLlama

Those 2 high ranking team executives, Portland.

  25. Yeah, looks like Masai and Bobby are trying to do it again…
