man kobe was such a badass back in 2003

  2. OnlyMamaKnows

Most players don’t use their injuries as an excuse though.

  3. No_Stay4471

He didn’t show up later to the press conference with his hand in a sling?

  4. RyanBlackburn

The whole giving yourself a nickname is cringe af

“But his TS% was only 1% better than Duncan and he’s an offensive player”

This is actually cut short. Search “Kobe 2003” to get the full interview, very inspirational stuff

  7. paddiction

Kobe took that Mamba Mentality into the 2003 offseason. He didn’t take no for an answer and pushed his body to the limit

  8. rjpadin

I always hated the Shaq excuse for losing. “Team X didn’t beat us, we beat ourselves.”

Interesting that it’s taboo to talk about your injuries in NBA. I feel like this doesn’t really exist in most other sports that I’m aware of (I’m European and don’t follow other American sports so maybe it’s a US thing)

I don’t think his nickname was the black mamba, yet. Doesn’t matter, still had a great mentality(if you ignore the bullying).

Feel like specifying 2003 is asking for these comments lol

  12. HailHelix123

Kobe really displayed a lot of willingness to never accept being denied in 2003! Mamba Mentality 💯💯

  13. Whiston1993

Kobe Bryant 2003 was definitely a monster

  14. Captainprice101

He cooked tim Duncan with an injured back in 2008. He never complained about injuries. He had a broken finger that changed his shooting form in 2010 against the Celtics.

  15. BongripperHousen

Kobe took ‘manna mentality’ to such length that in 2003 he took Denver to a 7 game series and won off a buzzer beater. Google ‘Kobe Bryant Colorado 2003’ to get the full scoop

I don’t think he says “I will push myself to exhaustion”, I think it’s “I push myself to exhaustion”. A subtle difference but it definitely changes the meaning

He was such a beast in 2003. To learn more google Kobe Colorado 2003

My favorite mamba interview was after he tore his achilles. So much heart

  19. lookatstephcurryman

This is cut short for some reason. For the full interview, search up “kobe 2003”. Real inspirational stuff and really epitomizes mamba mentality

  20. motorboat_mcgee

Love him, but unfortunately that same drive also cost the end of his career… pros and cons

  21. nomoreadminspls

Nba circle jerk tells me his best interview was in Colorado

  22. OriginalRedditHater

My only question about Mamba is did he actually rape that girl?

  23. DrCoxsEgo

“And I’ll RAPE a woman in hotel suite and nut in her face and then lie about it MULTIPLE TIMES to the detectives who make the initial investigation and then a couple of days before my trial for RAPING a woman and is supposed to start I write the woman I RAPED a check for $30,000,000 AND buy her a house, which we ALL know is something people who are TOTALLY and COMPLETELY innocent of RAPING women due for the woman they are on trial for RAPING and as a bonus I become the most hated athlete in the ENTIRE country.”

  24. -Mr-Papaya

Fuck I love his mentality. The way he kinda scoffs at the last Q… but just gives a short yet complete answer.

  25. Impressive-Potato

Was this the summer he had that operation un Colorado?

  26. Intelligent_Mud3251

    Blah blah blah
