The Gilbert Arenas Wizards | Forgotten NBA Teams

This is our second episode in our series going over some forgotten NBA teams throughout history. Today we take a look back at the Washington Wizards who were led by the big three of Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler during the mid 2000s. Arenas was a player ahead of his time who had deep range and could get to the basket, but unfortunately injuries and an infamous locker room incident ended any potential this team had.

  1. Gilbert could have played with Elton Brand if he chose the Clippers. Which was a better team than the Wizards. Gilbert got out of the first round just one time and have the nerve to disrespect Giannis.

  2. No one ever actually talks about how skilled this team was they only ever laugh at Gil. Like this was a great wizards team that ran into some buzz saws. Y'all didn't even talk about how good they were.

  3. that Wizards squad with Gil, Jamison and Caron Butler (and also Larry Hughes in the beginning) was my favorite team to watch besides the lakers. they were so fun to watch and i think they might've even had the 2nd best offense behind only the Suns at one point.

  4. I would love to see a vid on the Shean Kemp/Gary Payton Supersonics, they never won a ring because of Jordan but they still seem like a really fun team🔥🔥💯

  5. They made the finals 4 times in the 70s must've been the only time in history you can enjoy being a Wizards fan.

  6. I'd like to see a video on Neal O'Shea and how he ruined the Blazers. Also congrats on 40k!

  7. Aye naw the wizards owner is real af for that we need more owners like that. I’m not saying giving deals just bc but just looking out for there stars especially when you have no future anyway like lakers with Kobe in his last few years

  8. The locker room stories just reminds me of a quote that basically said your team is a reflection of its leader. And given level of unseriousness Gilbert possesses, as hilarious as it may be, I'm not surprised.

  9. Clutch Scale 0-10 Lebron 5, Kobe 8.5, MJ 10, AI 6, Larry Bird 4.5, Magic 9. Scale is based on finals' adversities. Kobe had a bad Game 7 against Boston. Lebron against Dallas is obvious but the Heat losses look really bad to me. If you go to the Finals with MJ…..You will win every time. That's just a fact I can't deny.

  10. Critteren was about that life, he is in prison for 25 years for murder in 2011, Gilbert got real lucky. Also Gilbert Arenas got paid until 2020 I think they cut and stretched that huge contract.

  11. Well interesting fact: Gilbert Arenas was going to be a top-10 pick in the draft, but due to his immaturity, he got sent to the 31st.

One: he doesn't do the treadmill training because he doesn't want his new shoes to get dirty.

Two: the NBA interviewer asked him what he would do in the future. He answered a pimp. They asked again can you say anything smarter, and he said he wants to be an international pimp.

Three: he blew his money before his rookie contract.

But that seemed to be a blessing in disguise for Agent Zero.

  12. Gilbert Arenas was very much important to the nba. Petitioned for 2nd rounders and undrafted guys to get paid earlier than 1st round picks. Amnesty clause was also introduced cause of his massive contact from the wizard to help teams rebuild from a bad contract. Truly generational

  13. Who heard about Gilbert arenas blasting Hakeem Olajuwon about how he was charging guys 55K to learn about his foot work and how footwork is a thing of the past

  14. Should’ve covered the DeShawn Stevenson/Soulja Boy vs LeBron and JayZ beef. Can’t talk about the wizards without that

  15. Making jokes about guns and Gilbert just wanted to honor Washington history and Bullets championship. Completely misunderstood guy.

  16. Not the most important nugget to this video but it'd shed some light on why the Lakers traded for Kwame: The previous season had a gridlock at SF (Butler, Devean George, Luke Walton and Juaine Jones). They were thin on bigs. Vlade Divac played less than ten games and retired. The backup C was Brian Grant who they used the amnesty clause on leaving only Chris Mihm. The Lakers needed a big and the only properly tradable SF was Butler (Jones got traded to Charlotte for just a draft pick).

  17. The funny part is everyone is REALLY about to find out how ahead of his time Gilbert is with adjusting his home to Colorado’s sea level because Denver’s home advantage is about to destroy the league in their repeat year
