If they truly believe Miami had the better offer, had Dame and his agent not tried to ruin the trade market by telling other teams he wouldn’t play for them, Cronin wouldn’t have acted out of spite and Dame would be in Miami. But no, Dame and his agent were on some bullshit and pissed the Portland GM off to the point he refused to trade him to Miami.
Having a preferred destination is one thing…but blatantly telling other teams you won’t play for them so your GM is forced to not only trade you to one place, but to accept a lower offer, is absolutely crazy. If I was Cronin I would be pissed too. Dame would be in Miami had he went about it the right way.
