I'm looking outside the box with this trade. They made the Bucks better. If the Suns somehow meet up the Bucks in the finals and lose. You can finger point this trade.
Wish Brooke Lopez was gone. He seriously underrated. Smart, Great defender, rebounder, and good shooter. On defense he protects the paint and It allows Giannis roam around in help defense. On offensive Lopez 3 point shooting opens up paint for Giannis.
i dont get it. maybe other Suns' fans can give me an inside view, but they traded a 5 or 6 year window of contention for Nurkic and two bench players?

Ugly trade for sure.
The Suns need Little to make that jump for the trade to pay off. He has the athleticism and physical tools to play the 3. He's 6'6 with a 7'1 wingspan and has shown some glimpses when given the opportunity.
I guess other teams are gonna absolutely hate playing the suns now not only cause of the offensive firepower of the big 3 but now they gotta worry that their star players gonna get their acl torn due to Grayson Allen so you know …. Silver linings

The main asset the Suns got in this trade is the removal of a locker room cancer and culture killer who was a $34 million misfit on this team. Ayton is obviously a better overall player than Nurkic. But the Suns need a big man who rebounds, sets screens, and protects the rim… Nurkic is better in those 3 areas than Ayton (rim protection is debatable). And Nurk won’t need touches to buy into that role.
My main 2 concerns are Nurkic’s injury history and his lack of defensive versatility, but that pales in comparison to the concerns that Ayton brings. The other players we got don’t excite me, but I was also prepared for a package that would seem underwhelming. A player like Anunoby never seemed realistic. But I still see this move as a step forward for the team.

Stupid trade. Haven't seen this stupidity since we traded Cam Johnson and mikal bridges for Kevin Durants 11 games. 😂.
Keon has played in only 77 games in four years.
Allen is the same year as Ayton and has played in less games on 3 different teams.
Nurkic is 11 year pro and has only played in 400 games he is missing the other 420 games. And shoots forty percent for a big. Ayton is 54%
Little has a wingspan of 7'5 and is only 6'5 the last guy we had like that we traded to Brooklyn (bridges) but is lacking all of the other talent.
Traded a center for SG and SF. We already got 3 starters who are SG and our PF is a SF.

Booker needs to be a man and take lead of his team and not be little brother to older player giving up his team and traded on teammates. Booker trying build big 3's but forgets his real solid season was because he was the superstar around product we created.
Can we trade some of those guys for Colin castleton from the lakers?
Honestly I'm a Denver fan and I think the Suns are still a tier below, but at least when Denver wins it might not be by an average of 20 points now
Horrible trade, if they did this to help with the numbers, then why did they do all the other trades to begin with? Everyone is questioning if this team has a legit PG, now they dont even have a legit C. Say what you want about DA, even at a lower level he was easily a double double and shown flashes. When they went to the finals against the Bucks, DA was tearing it up in the playoffs. I felt he could of gotten back there under the new coach. Now they get a bunch of nobodies and the main piece replacing DA is a could of been due to major injury. You need role players, yes, but you still need star power. DA was going to be the X factor. All the resources guarding Booker, guarding Durant, then guarding Beal and that leaves you with DA able to dominate. Now he is gone and its jut a bunch of average players. Come on, what a waste. DA spending all night playing video games and then starting the next day in prime time is still better than what they traded for.

Suns are objectively worse (less talented, more injury prone) today than yesterday, end of bench depth is basically irrelevant esp as these new players are redundant to current bench

James Jones gets far too much credit (KD/Beal negotiated their own trades to Phx), and this trade showcases that as it’s an objectively bad trade even if it’s the best he could find.

Brendon you’re the man bro. You give the best Suns commentary out there. Great summary of Ayton. He will be missed. He was honestly one of my all time favorite Suns. I’m a huge believer in him. He’s gonna have a chance to shine in Portland and maybe his time in Phoenix will give him some nasty for his future because that’s what he was lacking as a young man here in Phoenix.
This was a horrible trade for the Suns on paper. Say whatever the hell you gotta say to cope with it, “Ayton has behavior problems” “lockeroom cancer” and you could even be right about that, but the suns just traded an all star caliber center for a bunch of low tier role players during a year they expect to win a ring, and the move only makes their team worse. It might satisfy some go see him gone, but I promise nurkic will not replace even half of what Ayton gave them
Had to think about it for a while but as I contemplate with this kite in my hand questioning why. I realize we got a bigger body. A better paint defender. Additional three point shooters. Some wing defenders. I’m anxious to see how this would look.
