I mean that would make us contenders. with Dame/Scottie/OG/Siakam/Poeltl. oh well

That’s nothing burger
I’m prob one of few people who prefer trent over off
RedRocket13
I mean it’s still better than the offer the Blazers accepted
hoi4throwaway
I mean, that’s the trade Vecenie pitched. Personally I think that was as much as I was comfortable with. It also seems like Dame preferred the Bucks based on Spears’ reporting, so we can’t say our offer was better/worse necessarily.
The bigger issue is that we’re banking on trading expiring starters for disgruntled stars because we DON’T HAVE PLAN.
OGnotAnunoby
So masai really did turn on his sharingan

Grange’s latest article supports this:
> For a brief moment, there seemed the possibility that the Raptors would be going pretty deep into their future asset base — think as many as three first-round picks, two pick swaps and rookie forward Gradey Dick — to acquire Lillard, a 33-year-old guard who can single-handedly ignite an offence and also has four years and $216 million left on his contract.
> Per one Western Conference source, it’s believed the Raptors were hoping to construct a deal that would not include their core pieces — Pascal Siakam, O.G. Anunoby or Scottie Barnes.
IntriguedMck
Masai wanted his cake and to eat it as well offering that doodoo platter for Lillard while keeping the starters.
It’s a give **AND** take business and he only seems interested in transactions that only include the latter and none (or very minimal) of the former. I hope Portland FO laughed at him over the phone and hanged up

Didn’t even offer OG despite his expiring contract 😅
We are fucking toast lads

How does he have sources all of a sudden….?
kpeds45
Oooh, a league source “suggested”. That’s the ticket, this sounds legit.
Listening to reports, we offered everybody and nobody, and everyone is sure that these are all true.

We can technically offer a lesser version of this for Jrue. Not sure it’s worth it though

Ifgaf I loved masai, if this is true this man is cooked. Moron type offer when you KNOW og is not re-signing. Wtf is this team doing
TayOs1998
Only good teams should be trading picks away unless it’s for a true game changer
Tristo
Well hey, at least we kept OG. He can help us compete for that play-in spot, we’ll get eliminated nice and early, as we do (if we actually get in), and he’s likely going to walk for nothing at the end of this season. The post chip Masai special, nice and fresh!
Chance_Preparation_5
They could have got the deal done by sending Scotty. Do you prefer Dame or Scotty?
TJStrawberry
I’m really only OK with this as long as OG actually re-signs with us and does not walk for nothing.

That’s a better package than the Bucks gave them IMO…I’m not high on Ayton at all though, but Portland clearly is
Ayton will never be a top-tier centre, he’s a poor defender and he hasn’t really shown much improvement over his career thus far…he’s a slightly above-average to average player and honestly I think Nurk is the better of the two, Ayton is a lot younger so there might be more upside but I really don’t see him being a true top tier centre if he can’t defend…
The pick they got will be a very late pick and the pick swaps aren’t until 2028-2029 so who knows…
Jrue is 33 and they have no use for him, they will likely get a late 1st for him and filler…someone like Boston will probably go after him
I’m surprised they didn’t take our trade but hey…maybe Ayton will turn into something special, I just don’t see it at all

I know this looks bad reading but with shams accidental tweet and all the talk the last couple days, masai almost pulled it off if it werent for dames agent freaking out and expanding the teams he prefences. Even when we traded goran dragic and a pick the orginal deal in place was for porzingus but iirc wizards swooped in and had a better offer.

If OG walks for nothing, it’ll be interesting to see how the cultists spin all of these decisions positively. Swinging for the fences and whatnot I suppose.
