From Shams… details of the Heat and Blazer’s “negotiations”

I think we can put to bed the idea of the Heat overplaying their hand or refusing to go all in. Joe Cronin stopped answering Dame’s agent’s calls throughout this process. In the opening call with the Heat, he asked for Jimmy or Bam.

Beyond that, the Heat were willing to offer the Blazer’s 3 firsts — including one from another team in exchange for Herro —, Jovic, multiple swaps and seconds, plus salary filler. Instead the Blazer’s took Jrue and one pick, which, along with the swaps, doesn’t have a ton of value if Giannis remains with the Bucks…

“Damian Lillard let the Blazers know he was willing to be fully present for the start of the 2023-24 season, if only to give the organization more time to work toward a potential trade with the Heat…But Cronin expressed skepticism about that approach.”

He did everything, while he did cave in I can’t blame him for wanting absolutely out of that hellhole organization

Looking forward to the day Joe Cronin gets fired and never works in the NBA ever again.

I think our deal was better mainly because of the 3 firsts

No fucking way they had the balls to ask for Jimmy lmao get the fuck out of here

Let the record show forever that our Front Office was willing to empty the roster to make room for Dame. Portland was in their feelings.

LMFAO, if this is accurate information my comment history is looking goated rn. This is what I have been saying. Ain’t no way we don’t beat the offer that PDX took to move Dame to Bucks. They simply weren’t negotiating with us. In which case calling for key front office members to be fired has to be especially embarrassing right now. Lol this better be wrong info.

Pat did his job. He was ready to sell the farm to Cronin *as an opening offer*. He could have gotten more if he were even a little willing to negotiate and let Pat work his magic. But no. He got way, way less just to spite the Heat.

Cronin will be out of a job sooner than later.

Blazers front office has been known to be exceptionally dysfunctional for years now.

This is the same front office that according to a whistleblower knowingly withheld resources from Caleb Swanigan when he was suffering a mental health crisis because they hoped he continued to deteriorate to a point where he would stop reporting to the team, which would allow them to save money on his contract. (Caleb did stop reporting to the team and later died.)

Just a couple years ago an independent investigation concluded that the Blazers FO was an abusive and toxic environment. The Blazers refused to publish the details of what the investigation found, perhaps the details are too disturbing to be made public. They had no choice but to fire Olshey but they just replaced him with one of his henchmen in Joe Cronin.

Until the team is sold and a new owner completely cleans house the Blazers will continue to be good at nothing but gaslighting their fans.

That’s why I’ve been laughing at y’all trashing Pat. We had more assets to offer, but Portland ghosted us for most of it and went full petty at the end. Note I didn’t want to trade for Dame but still. It’s crazy the emotional whiplash and responses when we all knew Portland was petty from the start. Now they get less than they thought.

Lol them asking for Jimmy or Bam is so wild. They basically ghosted the heat because Cronin was butthurt over us not wanting to give up the guys that would benefit the most from Dame coming here.

Portland got fleeced on the Whiteside trade, so they decided that the Heat are off limits. So, they took a worse offer. Those pick swaps might not even convey if the Bucks are still good in 4 or 5 years and the Blazers are bad (which is very likely).

It’s hard to do a deal with a team that doesn’t know anything. Oh well, we got them in the Whiteside trade. I wonder if the Bucks will be off limits to do trades with in 4 years because of how bad this will be for Portland.

I could easily see the Heat still going further than every team in this trade.

  13. PiggyWobbles

All that and Portland will still be a shitty team lmao

Pat probably hung up the phone once he heard “We want Jim——“

  15. The-Sorcerers-Stoned

Their first actual pick from bucks is in 2029!?! 🤣

  16. iSayTwice

Portland didn’t try in good faith to negotiate. That’s how you treat your loyal franchise star of 11 seasons. It’s going to be fun watching Portland suck for seasons to come

  17. Aram_theHead

Why are these details coming out now rather than during the trade talks though? Never ever had a clue what the offer was until yesterday

  18. MachoCyberBullyUSA

Gotta love you when you give your loyalty for a decade and then don’t get it reciprocated
