Morey isn’t dumb enough to pay picks to get Harden, then turn around and pay picks to trade Harden. That’s insta-death for a GM. Harden is an MVP, which is why we paid the picks + Simmons anyway.
Morey is more likely to just stand pat with Harden anyway. Having team stars treat you like they can walk all over you year after year is not the look that a GM wants to cultivate, so he can’t be on the losing end of a trade like that again.
Brogdon or Jrue on the Celtics, either way we weren’t somehow going to magically be better than them by swapping Harden for Jrue.
