Jason Timpf continues his ranking of the top 20 teams in the NBA heading into the 2023-24 season with No. 8, the Philadelphia 76ers. After winning an MVP, Joel Embiid and the Sixers got bounced in the second round once again. With James Harden still wanting out of Philly, the Sixers seem to be at a crossroads, and need to find a way to contend if they want to keep Joel Embiid happy as well.

  1. Mailbag: What do you think is the biggest thing Anthony Edwards can improve on in terms of his game or his approach to the game to move himself up and make the jump this season?

  2. Same thing can be said to KAT’s game as well. Big man who can shoots are unstoppable, but when make it to post season, u gotta dominate the paint.

  3. Mailbag: What minor moves or signings could Milwaukee make to sure up their roster around Giannis and Dame?

  4. Mailbag question:

What is your view on Bill Russell and his place in the GOAT debate? Do you think there’s an asterisk next to his 11 rings due to less competition? Or does his defensive dominance and overall winning impact put him near the top of your all-time rankings?

  5. Mailbag: Do you ever watch thinking basketball? They make amazing analytical content and it would be so cool to see you guys collab.

  6. Mailbag question
How good can the brooklyn nets defense be this season? With Claxton, Mikal, Ben simmons and Dorian finney smith. I see them as a top 5 defense potentially.

  7. Mailbag: Totally see what you’re saying about Harden’s performance last postseason but can it be argued he deferred to the MVP and thus affected his game?

  8. Mailbag question: Do you think coaches and gms look at your videos or some other shows/podcasts/coaches in yt for more scouting and schemes?

  9. Mailbag question: do you think, from the last couple of years, that we should include the postseason in the MVP award? I see a lot of weakness in Embiid's game compared to Jokic and it's def not a personal problem. What's your take on that?

  10. Mailbag:
Who are some non-superstar players that you have enjoyed watching the most? Current or retired
    Love the show as always

  11. Mailbag question: skill ball vs „experts“..there is this debate about constructing a team on the one hand with 5 versatile players, lets exaggerate a bit, a team of 5 j.williams (okc) that can do everything quite good but nothing really on the highest level or on the other hand that classical pg in cp3, klay on the 2 as the classic SHOOTING guard, at the 3 a versatile wing like wiggins, at the 4 a big strong forward like Julius randle and at the 5 an old school huge center like jarret allen..for sure the truth will be somewhere in the middle but what is your tedency in that regard? And for the sake of the argument lets exclude the unicorns or overwhelmingly good players like steph, jokic, lebron etc. that get almost every team or system running.

  12. You learned a new word recently didn't you… I've never heard you say Fulcrum in your life, now you're saying it about 40 times today.

  13. Note to editor: It is always jarring when I have Hoops Tonight on in the background and the Cowherd sponsorship bit suddenly breaks in at 2x volume

  14. Remember Wiggins' D was transformed by GSW and it didn't happen for Oubre there. It won't happen for Oubre anywhere if it didn't happen there.
