  1. Damn this made me tear up – glad to have watched Dame for so long in Portland

He has big words for Ant – keen to see him up his game this season

Interesting he mentioned Neil and Jody but nothing at all on Joe…

As a UX guy, white text on a black & white background. Nah, Dame finally crossed a line with me

  3. sean_buttcannon

awe man 😔 this is all so sad man

  4. ZachCollinsROTY

Very sad but tbh the part dedicated to the local media guys was pretty funny

  5. Give-And-Toke

Thank you Dame!!! Go get your ring!!

  6. LordBitington

    Heartfelt and heart broken.
I’m gonna hang on to these words “I do believe the day will come when I put a Blazers uniform on again”.

  7. Chemical_Lavishness6

I’m convinced once his contract is up he’ll come back and retire with us. That message was too damn heartfelt for him not too 😭😭

  8. WhenItsHalfPastFive

All of it clearly came from him, doesn’t seem like any PR stuff.

    That last line, just perfect:

    > “I do believe the day will come where I put a Blazers uniform on again, and hopefully then I’ll be forgiven for breaking your hearts along with my own”.

The Jody Allen part also stood out to me:

    > “I want to thank Jody Allen. Jody, the first time I met you you had on a pair of Alexander McQueen sneakers and a vintage Blazers jacket. I thought to myself, this is a cool woman. I apologize for any misunderstanding this summer because you have truly been great about everything the last five years. I will be forever grateful for your support in some difficult situations away from basketball where you showed true love and compassion for my family and me. We will have our moment. Much love to you!”

Grown man that puts a ball through a metal ring giving another grown man that he doesn’t even know exists a lump in his throat. o7

  10. NevermoreSEA

I’m really going to miss this man.

  11. Zers503

As classy as it gets! Forever a legend in Portland

  12. Sensitive-Sorbet917

Well fuck that brought tears to my eyes. ♾️

  13. RipCityRevival

I was crying reading this on instagram. I still remember exactly where I was when I watched Dame get drafted 11 years ago. It’s been a hell of a ride and I will cherish every moment of it. There will never be another Damian Lillard.

  14. Sensitive-Sorbet917

Where’s our fucking statue…in due time

  15. 1nsider

Go read Jason Quicks story on what he would tell Scoot Henderson about Lillard. It’s very touching. Hope Henderson wants something similar for himself here.

    Man of the people.

    Go knock them out Dame.

  16. mvang85

He brought some smoke against the journalists lol.

  17. lanesraa

I love you Dame, please go win a ring with Giannis my sweet prince 🥹

  18. my-my-my-myyy-corona

Love you Dame. That last part was 🙁

  19. Sharpe_Amen

(posted this in the other thread before i realized this one was up so ima post it here too)

As a younger blazer fan who barely remembers the days of broy, dame has been the blazers to me for my entire fandom. Im super excited for the future but damn, ill never forget having twenty people crammed into my dorm room watching dame hit the shot over pg, or the other endless memories he created between me and my friends. Will miss you big guy.

  20. loverofthrowpillows

My mom and I both tearing up as we read in. This is also my last night in Portland and move to Philly tomorrow after my entire life here so this note is hitting different 😭😭. To new beginnings!!

  21. theljj556

Tbh cj has better writing skills than Dame. But this is great too

  22. MavetheGreat

Is he talking about Aminu when he says Chief?

  23. 2004MaddenVick

As a die hard blazer fan. I feel like this process showed me who Dame really was. Just a whiney cry baby who wants to have his cake and eat it too. I hate him now. He’s a bitch in my book.
