Man I was hoping we got jrue
Nurkic similar if not better rebounder, better screen setter, shoots 3's, willing and creative passer, master of the rebound tip in bucket (his touch around the basket is amazing but he can rush things at times.) He sometimes settles for floater-esqe shots and lay ups when he could just bully toward the basket and get fouled. Kinda overstays on men on perimeter switches instead of cover paint.
The guy is hard nosed and will bang with the best of em. And posted the first 5×5 game in NBA history with over 20/20 pts/reb.

Nurkic might not be a blatant upgrade but we got depth out of it too! This may of been the last time we could’ve traded DA for a package

I like the trade. I am happy. Ayton did not want to be in PHX so someone who wants to be with the Suns, that itself is an upgrade. We got Nurkic and some young players. That sir is a W.
No way he's a downgrade from Unfocused DA. But it's a plus he doesn't need the ball because we need his passing from the paint with all the options they will have and the trouble teams will have picking which sun too Double
I think its a win. Yes overall Ayton is a better player, but Nurkic is a better rebounder, AND THATS WHAT WE NEED IN THE FRONTCOURT! We don't need anymore offensive fire power, we already have enough of that. What we need now is reounds and depth, and I think we got that after trading away DA.

I think we might be stuck in the past with this change thinking we need that position/Ayton to be the 3rd option, give us 18. Ayton did that but not anything else regularly that centers need to do. Now we have a better center and 10ppg. We also have more options on the starting 5 so Ayton's 18 would not have been needed at all. Just big man stuff, which nurk does better. We won.
We need another center nd Kd needs to play the 3

Was cp3 an upgrade to Ricky Rubio? And cp3 made it to and finished all of the playoff series he was in right? Especially the finals vs the buck where he couldn’t control his dribble or shoot. Yeah I can see Nurkic making it through this season, the playoffs, next season and those playoffs before the wheels fall off Durant, injury free.

Great analysis. Ayton is more talented but not a great fit for Suns anymore.
Feeling a ton better about this trade after watching this video, and going through some stats as well, might not be so bad.

Ayton just upped his value in the Olympic qualifier, plus he just came out about sleeping with porn stars, I think that with his 27 game suspension and lazy game they cut and ran…plus we really added three nice pieces, nurks will shoot the three and set nasty picks, Grayson is a 48 percent corner three and tough. Nurks is tough, the other two are really nice pieces…we got a full stable

I never felt like he got treated right here in Portland. I felt like they ignored him. I remember when he included in the offense as a major part of the offense it seemed like we won more often but they’d always go back to guards shooting threes. I get the feeling that will happen in Phoenix too. He’s actually a great offensive threat. I remember he first came to Portland his first game was against Jokic. He had like 22 points 26 rebounds 6 blocks 2 steals and some assists. That approximately what he had and I thought wow we are going to eventually going to the finals down the road with this guy. He’s pretty negative guy I’ve noticed though. I like him though.

Quick correction on Nurkic playing super bad on screens: Chauncey Billups had an awful defensive scheme in Portland that was ultra-aggressive & you would see centers get put up too high on screens or random double teams that would make the rest of the defense vulnerable. I guarantee you Vogel won't be running Nurkic high off the pick and rolls and have him play a lot of drop coverage. He won't be as much of a liability as you think and he will be good in drop and be physical and get you rebounds.

As a blazers fan I’ll say this, Nurk is probably a better fit on the current suns roster/gameplan than how the blazers were trying to be more running n gunning the past couple seasons. If Vogel can unlock the mental block and get him back to Bosnian beast mode then y’all are really gonna love that version of Nurk, think Portland coaching wasn’t the best with big men.
Flexibility…extremely important for the Suns going forward, even if it's a small one!
The best case scenario for Nurk is to become a bit like Brook Lopez. That's what I'm hoping for
