Jason Timpf continues his ranking of the top 20 teams in the NBA heading into the 2023-24 season with No. 7, the Miami Heat. After winning the Eastern Conference over the Boston Celtics, but ultimately coming up short against the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals, Jimmy Butler and the Heat may still need another piece to get themselves over the hump. After failing to make a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers for Damian Lillard, what other pieces could Pat Riley’s team bring in to give themselves another chance at a title run?

No Strus, no Vincent, not even Dame?
Good luck with that
I was refreshing frantically to see when this was gonna upload
Miami just doesn’t have enough talent. The talent drain due to waiting for Dame will be the downfall of the Heat
I think if they trade for jrue they are good to go
I'll be very surprised if this team is the 7th best team in the regular season but I've learned not to bet against the heat in the playoffs so maybe they still deserve this spot
Please editors, smooth out the ad transitions with a splash screen or something, it's so jarring with them just appearing out of nowhere right now. Small thing that will go a long way into upping the pod's quality.
Can we get more on the league wide disrespect of Herro's game?! Even this video glosses over him as a 'good player' and then lists a couple iso numbers… but says the Heat are a fringe All Star guard away from a Chip?? The dude has been in the All Star conversation for 3 years straight. He just turned 23. I don't get it. Please explain…
Also, Herro picked it up on defense last year and his commitment to defense was the reason he broke his hand against Milwaukee. If he was healthy in The Finals you don't have Strus and Gabe going 0 for 10 on alternating games with about a wash on Defense.
Mailbag question, so in the Timberwolves vide you mention how point of attack defense is becoming the new paint defense and previously you have said that in order to win an NBA championship you need dominant front court defenders, so with the point of attack defenders becoming a new paint offenders do you think that the dominant font court defenders are needed? What are your thoughts on that

The details behind this trade scenario with Miami. Pdx has an ego maniac at the gm spot.
