This is honestly getting ridiculous. I’m pretty sure all of us saw the ESPN post a couple weeks ago and they did a ranking of basically centers and power forwards and put him at number 29. I can see him being later on the list because you’re obviously taking the best power forwards and the best centers but he definitely still should’ve been top 20 maybe top 15 in general. But no way in hell. Should he be that low on the list when it comes to centers.
A few things to dive in here he’s definitely better than Rudy, vuc, and turner. Vuc has shown he is definitely done with his all star level production, Rudy is washed, and all turner can do is shoot and block shots. Did people forget the Zubak had 30-30 on his head. As for wemby I’m pretty sure pop or somebody from the Spurs confirm that he’s not playing center he’s going to be playing power forward. Even then why are we ranking rookies they haven’t even played it yet. Yes you can rent them based on potential but how are you going to say they’re better than somebody else when they haven’t even played a game yet? Especially when it comes to Chet.
Clax is it really that gift it on offense I will admit
But he’s definitely shown potential to get it done. Especially because he shows guard like tendencies. I’m pretty sure the Nets posted a video about him last year basically saying that he played point guard his whole life but since he had a huge growth spurt, he was basically forced to learn how to play center. Either way he still really good.
My top 8 centers in order Jokic embid AD bam sabonis KP(if he plays center over Robert) kat Clax never really knew who to give the other two spots to because the center position is a really as good as It once was. But either way Clax defense is enough to put him in the top 10.
And before some people come at me crazy, there’s been players throughout history that literally became all stars just because of their defense. Rodman, Ben, rudy, Mutombo, there’s probably a lot more that I’m not thinking about, but those for, in particular stand out to me. All these guys weren’t gifted on offense, but their defense made up for it. I’m not Clax is an all star just yet, but these guys were given respect during their time because of their defense why isn’t Clax? Is it because he’s in Brooklyn?
I remember when he was front runner for dpoty when we had our superstars but as soon as they left nobody gave him respect anymore, even though he averaged the same stats without them. And I’m pretty sure there’s advance stats that prove he’s one of the best one on one defensive players in the league.

Rookies shouldn’t be included in any list prior to playing their first NBA game. It does not make sense, what’s their point of comparison? Other leagues are not compared with the NBA in terms of stats.
This list is awful, but not because of Claxton. Vuc is way too high. It’s weird to rank people who haven’t played yet but maybe they’re trying to make a prediction. Allen and Lopez are laughably low. I’m not sure I’d agree Claxton is too low, or that he is definitely better than Gobert. Last year Rudy had a down year, and it was still really close (I would give it to Clax). If Gobert bounces back he’s easily a top 5 center.
Right now I’d say Claxton should be above Vuc and Wemby (though it’s entirely possible Wemby is better him next year), but below Lopez and arguably Allen too. So ultimately, I’d say Claxton is rated fairly as a top 10 center, but at the bottom half of the top 10.
Why the fuck is Vuc and Turner so high
Yeah my only issues are Wemby and Vuc being ranked ahead of him. I don’t see anything else wrong with it, at least in terms of the players ranked ahead him.

Vuc is really the only guy I think Clax is definitely better than. Say what you want about Turner but he’s an amazing shot blocker that can spread the floor. Clax is still so limited offensively that it may hurt come playoffs. I’m not sure Clax is elite enough to pay big bucks to.
We love Nic. But he needs to gain some weight and get a jumper. My only disagreement is Rudy being on this list whatsoever.
