Dame is NOT a member of the Miami Heat and Pat Riley surely regrets his stinginess. But how much are the Portland Trail Blazers to blame? #basketball #commentary #nba

  1. From September 29th to October 3rd Cloaked goes into closed testing. But for my audience if you go to cloaked.app/rusty you can bypass the waitlist. And then use my code rusty for 20% off your first 3 months!

  2. Pat Riley and the rest of that front office is just an extension of their fan base. Overvalue and overhype borderline good players (Nikola Jovic or Jamie Jacques Jr) or good players who they believe should be untouchable (Tyler Herro). You have no idea how many Heat fans I have as friends who said ā€œBro we canā€™t include NIKOLA JOVIC and/or CALEB MARTIN in a trade for Damian Lillard.ā€

  3. nah we did not screw up, its all good. As soon as phoenix got involved i knew right then and there it will be nigh impossible to make the trade for Dame. But even so, without Phoenix even involved the ask was either Jimmy or Bam (which would fuck Dame over anyway) 2 of our youngsters and all our futuer picks untill 29. It was not gonna happen that way. This is a heated debate in the fandom of the Heat at the moment, with the "fans" thinking we screwed up while the fans think we all good. I disagree we put all our eggs in that one basket, it was never a certainty and it was not even close to the AD situation. Also i remember Dame giving a statement that regardless where he would end up he would perform. As well as it was not Jovic that was the deal breaker, they wanted either Jimmy or Bam, but i would not trade Jovic as well and the additional side of the package was crazy as well. We were prepared to trade Tyler Duncan and Kyle and our picks to get the job done, we were prepared to include other players as well. We dont need no back up plan per se, we need a decent center and pg still, which would still be the case if we get DAme, we'd still be undersize as hell. The Bucks needed to make the spalsh to retain Giannis. Again you are missing the mark big time, the problem was Phoenix joining in the trade, thats why we lost on Dame, not stinginess. Nah, we keeping Pat ty, only "fans" are pissed at him right now, no hardcore fan is really mad, we gonna be good im not worried

  4. Time will tell but they could still potentially end up with Jrue Holiday or another player that is a part of a potential Jrue Holiday trade like say CP3 or James Harden.

  5. This is a bad take, itā€™s been reported multiple times the blazers just didnā€™t want to deal with Miami. Even going as far as to ask for jimmy or bam when talks started. Heat offered a better package than the bucks, blazers were not interested

  6. @rustybuckets You canā€™t sit here and tell me the bucks offer was better Iā€™m sorry. Miami could have orchestrated the same 3 team trade with Phoenix. Portland couldā€™ve received 3-4 first round picks after trading Tyler to another team, along with multiple second round picks, pick swaps and Jovic and or Jaquez and Ayton. Thatā€™s so much more than the bucks offer. In addition there was a report about a 4 team trade with the nets and spurs back in July where the blazers receive:

Lowry, Duncan, Jovic, JJJ, 3 first, 2 swaps and Ben Simmons via Brooklyn

    San Antonio receives: Herro

    Brooklyn receives: Nurkic and Nas.

Apparently everyone agreed to the trade except Portland.

But sure Rusty, Jrue holiday and a 1st with a couple swaps was tremendously betteršŸ˜šŸ’€. Respectfully, youā€™re wrong.

  7. Miami should call the Bulls and try to get Demar and/or Lavine in a 3 team trade. Herro to the Bulls and 1/2 1st picks would be something good to rebuild the roster.

  8. 10:45 ngl that's just casual fans. those takes are reminiscent of the "hey, the heat MUST get james harden!" i know you've been deep-diving into riley latelyā€”have faith. casual consensus is to always go for win-now (which makes sense for a bulls fan whose lifetime as a fan includes only misery). heat fansā€”legit fansā€”have enjoyed 3 championships, several finals and conference finals runs, and enjoyable years with gritty teams (zo, timmy, majerle, askins, caron, UD, the entire heat coaching staff of former players).

idk man, it's just hard for me to wrap my brain around the concept of getting mad over not making a move when the other party is emotional and wanting to fleece you somehow. riley, in my irrelevant opinion, really just played this wisely. sure, the heat won't be able to spend nearly $30 mill a year on vincent and strus, but i'm pretty cool with the current squad and the prospect of picking someone up in better circumstances in the near future. dame would have been nice, but when 2K shit doesn't work out, I'm always glad riley has the composure and discipline not to bite on the popular move that sells your franchises future for a 2-year window (see also: nets the past decade, knicks in perpetuity)

  9. Miami heat some how they always find a way but I agree they lost to much and didnā€™t gain anything. Even superhero jimmy canā€™t withstand lillard and Giannis

  10. Lol all of the details show no matter what the heat wouldā€™ve done it wouldnā€™t matter because of Cronin ego. Cronin literally dodges Pat since July

  11. Its not that miami was cocky. Portland most likely gave them a chance to counter. They just drew the line in the place that you disagree with. Does that make them ignorant? Maybe. But not cocky.
