This shit sucks. That article was supposed to be damage control for Goodwin but all it did was make me think that maybe Joe has what it takes to be a successful GM in the NBA

What likely happened: “if you can’t get me to Miami I’ll report to the team and call off the trade request until you can work something out with them”…there is no way he suddenly had a change of heart with regard to playing for a contender.

Worst blazer fan account in history. I got in a stupid twitter beef with him over this take

Goodwin overplayed his hand. These a multi-billion dollar valued corporations. You think you can f**k around and pull this high school-level manipulation? Not sure what reality Dame and his agent live in.

So many Blazer Twitter accounts got duped by that Haynes article. Played right into what they want.

A lot of the Twitter crowd are younger fans who don’t get it yet, they don’t know what hit pieces are or have the understanding of a situation to read the writing on the wall.

I’ve come across his “fire cronin at all costs” tweets and its hilarious. People like this are kinda smooth brained but thats fine, they’ll see one Shaedon oop and get over it.

Blazers twitter is pretty bad, at least the bigger accounts you see often

It was time for Dame to go after pulling that bs he did. Believe it or not as currently structured right now
I believe the blazers have a brighter future without dame. And they still have Jrue who can bring back
Additional assets. Far better than what Miami was offering.

  9. We all know Dame a lot better than Cronin and the rest of the front office. Does anything in Dame’s past behavior or statements lead you believe he’s just now not telling the truth?

So the extra context needed was that Dame wasn’t saying “I’m rescinding my trade request so we can bunker down the next four years together,” it was more like “ok Miami probably isn’t gonna be the team so I’ll rescind until you guys can work something out with hopefully Miami.” Makes a lot more sense that it happened this way.

I’m not a fan of ignoring Dame while he reported back to the facility, but otherwise Cronin did exactly what he should have done: grind for the best deal and tell your disgruntled star (or his agent) “it’s not just gonna happen exactly how you want.” I don’t think either party committed some great sin by handling a trade request sub-optimally.

The only person who has truly looked unfavorable throughout this whole thing is Aaron Goodwin; even the Haynes article was a laughable attempt to paint him in a positive light if that’s what the intent was. Can’t believe he is still representing Dame after this.

The sooner you realize that most these “Blazer” fan pages are run by people who have never had a star player leave the team in their lifetime you realize that they have no perspective on what is bad or not. The contentiousness of the Walton/Drexler trades were WAY worse than this.

  12. Stegosaurus69

How many people eat this shit up? That’s kinda scary

  13. tardwash

I blocked this account in July. The shitty takes never stop coming.

Dame stepped out on the Blazers with his public Miami only trade demand. You gotta pack your shit and go after that.

I had the same reaction and was so down and heartbroken. Until I realized that Dame and his camp just were prepared to give Miami more time. It is still super painful and I wish we could have seen Dame be a Blazer lifer but all breakups suck. Hopefully with time everything settles and Dame can still come back and retire here one day

  16. Honestly this was about as good of a breakup as it can be. Dame is sent to a team with a great shot at a ring, the team gets some good pieces to rebuild (Holiday is in huge demand so we should get some nice things for him). Dame wasn’t being reasonable or rational when he wanted to take back the request. It was done.

This direction makes a lot more logical sense. Blazers are rebuilding and not in Dame’s window. He can’t help the team

  17. ohmygodbeats7

Yeah, this take is so stupid, haha.

  18. notaclevernameguy

Sorry Dame but coming back to the blazers leaves a chance for an injury. You guys can keep making excuses for poor Dame but it’s sad. The second he leaked the team he wanted to gave Miami all the power. Management made the right move. Get on get, young core of guys now. Enough with the drama mama
