[Wojnarowski] Cronin opened up his Moleskine journal and jotted notes… He resisted posting trade offers on elaborate whiteboards with magnets and nameplates in his practice-facility office or meeting rooms; too many prying eyes could steal a glance. Everything existed inside that Moleskine.

The way this has all played out with every writer with clear “allegiances” for lack of a better word is hilarious.

All this so they can leak info earlier than their peers.

Article says that Sunday night was when the negotiations went back and forth with the Bucks/Blazers.

Also said that Portland discussed Ayton even before Dame asked out.

Woj thinks he’s George RR Martin

Why are Americans so obsessed with using brand names to define an object rather than, you know, using the noun of the object?

That might be the most millenial hipster thing I’ve read about an NBA exec.

Cronin was the mastermind. He wanted Dame to demand that trade the moment he selected Scoot. That way he doesn’t look bad if he opted to ship Dame out himself. He knew it was the time to rebuild and not waste those young juicy assets on someone like Siakam.

The Portland media trying really hard to make Cronin look like Littlefinger.

  8. Sounds creepy when you put it like that. Is Cronin a warlock?

    > Here’s what made that delicate, though: If the deal fell apart, Horst didn’t want another team to know how far along these Blazers-Bucks talks had gotten. The Suns knew they were getting Portland’s Nurkic, Nassir Little and Keon Johnson in a three-team trade, but the Suns had to get one more asset to make this deal workable. In almost all cases, Cronin would’ve told Bartelstein that he was getting Milwaukee guard Grayson Allen, but Horst’s insistences on secrecy made this different.

    > Cronin did tell Bartelstein the general salary and position of the mystery player, so the Suns were able to deduce that it was one of two players — Allen and Oklahoma City’s Victor Oladipo, who is recovering from a serious leg injury. The Thunder are sometimes on the periphery of these big deals, so the Suns thought that was a possibility. Of course, the Thunder were nowhere near this trade.

    > Cronin kept telling Bartelstein: Just trust me. You’re going to like the mystery player. Trust me.

The NBA is fucking wild lmao

Chris Haynes and Woj have a mouthpiece off.

  14. Mister_Mangina

Not that we needed a reminder but Woj definitely isn’t in his position by virtue of being a good storyteller lol

This trade was sponsored by Moleskine.

Really strange how every fan always decides to latch on to the narrative of every GM, Owner, Front office person over any player every single time.

Moleskin? I’ll do it on my foreskin.

Other sports are starting to follow the NBAs lead at making media bits sound like high school fanfiction
