Steve Kerr on Chris Paul’s role:
I’m thrilled to coach him. He’s one of the great competitors I’ve ever seen; his command of the game, the way he controls the action. His teams tend to get a great shot possession after possession. He understands what wins. So I’m really excited to coach Chris and I know he’s really excited to be here. We basically have six starters, the way I look at, and only five can go each night. I haven’t decided yet what we’re going to do.

Steve Kerr on Jonathan Kuminga:
I’m excited about JK. He’s had a really good summer. I was getting reports routinely when I was overseas. And the coaches were all raving about him, saying that he’s really worked hard and understood what’s needed from him. I think it will be very helpful for him to play with Chris Paul. Chris has a way of making the game easier for people. I anticipate them spending some time on the court together and Chris helping to unlock some of that potential. Otherwise, JK is in his third year and getting better, working hard, and is right on track to get where he needs to go. I’m excited.

Mike Dunleavy Jr. On the Chris Paul drama:
Yeah, I think you realize that these guys are all adults. Our guys that have been here, the veterans plus Chris, who has been around the league played many years, they all have one thing in common at this point in their careers. They want to win. And that common thread, we felt like, will unify the group. There may be some awkwardness or uncomfortableness, which I think probably is more so in the media than it is with these guys. I mean, they’re already connected, getting together in different areas, playing. So that stuff, I don’t have a whole lot of worries about that. But I think just the common thread of competitiveness, intelligence and just being adults, those things make me believe that this thing can work out.

Mike Dunleavy Jr. On the lack of size:
Yeah, I think looking at it going into training camp right now, we have five guys who can give us minutes at the five position. And I think about it through camp, making sure everybody gets the appropriate amount of reps, our rookie, Trayce Jackson-Davis, we drafted in the second round, we want him to get some reps. Garuba, the same thing. He’s a young player, and we want him to play. So I think as we kind of look at that and evaluate it. We want to make sure there are enough reps in camp and early on in the season. But we’ll constantly be evaluating it. I think we’ll keep flexibility open, you know, and sure, we could add a big. We could add a wing. Maybe there’s an injury, and we need to add a guard. So I think for us, more so than any position of need right now, we’re focused on flexibility and we’ll see where we go from here.
