  1. This is huge. IF my celtcs can stay healthy. Big IF. Tatum n Brown gotta step up n bring it home this year šŸ’ŖšŸ»

  2. As a LA native that went to UCLA, I'm sure Jrue is ecstatic to play for the Celtics

  3. mil might be a tougher match up for Denver than Boston but Denver isnā€™t built to beat Boston at all. To the points made in the video:

    1. Porzingus n Al can both guard. Al just got finished locking up embiid last yr n porzingus has the length to at least make Jokic think twice. Rob was an injury risk too. So that hasnā€™t changed since last yr. Also they arenā€™t gonna play double big w only two, less durable, centers. A jt/kp front court can handle nuggets front line as well as almost anybody.

    2. they have the shooting to punish the nuggets in porzingus, Al, jrue, and white. N the jays are great against close outs and w space can use physicality get to the rim. Jtā€™s pull up shooting isnā€™t v relevant bc they wont run a lot of pnr w the 5 man (which as mentioned relies on a the ball handler shooting well enough to bring the big up away from the rim), even though jrue is an effective pull 3pt shooter. They will likely run more 1-4 jrue/Jt pnrs or or 4-2 w white screening for tatum. That way jt can operate w a size mismatch or in the short roll w no rim protection bc Jokic cant leave bostons stretch centers. plural. there will be no where to hide Jokic on defense.

Boston has shooting bigs to bring Jokic away from the rim n pick on his lack of mobility. And they have a size advantage on the perimeter w the exception of mpj who canā€™t slide his feet w the jays. On defense Cs front line can do as good a job on Jokic as any team not named the bucks. I would say lakers too but AD got fried n lebron is washed in that end. Jrue-white-jb-jt is the most vicious perimeter defensive line up in the league. They have no prob w what Denver does out there.

Iā€™d understand having the nuggets 1st or 2nd in the rankings based on having already proven they can win. But Denver is not a bad match up for Boston at all. Actually Denverā€™s guys said they thought Boston was their toughest match up last yr and this yrs roster presents the same challenges for them.

  4. How are the Celtics going to guard Milwaukeeā€™s front court. I donā€™t see it.

  5. As a Bucks fan I don't like that, dfenses win chips so yes Celtics favourites now unless Bucks pull off something to improve our peripheral defense.

  6. Also 2018 is a long time ago,

ā€œHoliday not only averaged 27.8 points per game on 56% shooting for New Orleans in that series, he also matched up on Lillard for 28 minutes, 4 seconds according to NBA tracking data. Lillard shot just 27.8% from the floor and 22.2% from behind the three-point line in scoring just 14 points.ā€

Here are there matchups including their 2018 matchup.

ā€œIn regular season play over the last three years Lillard only appeared in three of the Bucksā€™ six games against the Trail Blazers. Holiday matched up against him for about 24 minutes in those games, and Lillard got the better in the competition by scoring 31 points on 11 of 17 (65%) shooting, including making 56% from behind the three-point line and all four of his free throws.ā€

  7. Good move for Boston. Pretty much you get smarts defense with Malcomā€™s offensive abilities put into Holiday. Losing Williams may seem like a negative, but in reality, he was often injured. Also in todays modern NBA you donā€™t really need that many bigs. Maybe for a series or two in the playoffs. They can trade or sign another big body that just throw six fouls and grab some boards.

  8. You said boston can stretch the bucks out and cause problems but boston wouldnt be able to do that against denver? Jokic is great offensively but defensively boston would abuse denver.

  9. Robert Williams seemed important to celtics….Porzingis is not my cup of tea but hey maybe things work out, although like R. Williams he gets hurt a lot…

  10. The playoff will be exciting, can't wait for bucks vs celtics. Giannis is the best player in that series so bucks in 6 baby

  11. Dame is now pissed. Very pissed. He will be another great to not winning a ring

  12. I think this move is what the Celtics needed. Bringing in a veteran with championship experience to a team that had none is huge, and on top of that the veteran player weā€™re talking about it Jrue freaking Holiday, an all-star/all-defensive player who gives the Celtics way better playmaking/ball handling than they had going into the season. While Tatum has been improving with his on-ball skills, he is still very elite off the ball.

Also, for the Miami Heat offseasonā€¦yikes

  13. Jrue is who the media pretended Marcus Smart was. A consistent lockdown defender with the ability to have big scores in high leverage games. He is probably the most underrated guard in basketball (as media is obsessed with small 3pt shooters). Heā€™s gonna eat Dame. Look at their history. The smartest off-season move in the NBA.

  14. This is a great get for both teams. Celtics get a replacement and improvement over Marcus Smart, and the Blazers low key got a great young squad and lots of picks.

  15. Celtics cheating the game like always smh and still not winning in the modern era šŸ˜‚ they got Jrue for a Hot Dog which the Celtics paid 25 cents for and I even like both players they send away

  16. I remember when Shaq and Barkley once said when 2 teams are closely evenly matched it come down to one thing. Your best player versus my best player and the Bucks have 2 of the 3 best players in the series. Jason said it, it comes down to Tatum and i don't trust him

  17. Jrueā€™s hair is so cute ā˜ŗļø. But can he still slap Dameā€™s balls? šŸ¤”

  18. Pick and Pop: I picked a big juicy one and popped it on my plate. Mom wasnā€™t happy. šŸ‘©šŸ½ šŸ‘€
