So gotta admit that as a Cronin trash talker: he is doing quite a solid job for the Dame return, still could get something for Brogdon. If you like a petty breakdown of how he effed with the East: strung Miami along to do nothing of substance, gave Giannis his perfect teammate, pumped up the Celtics and pretty much locked upset harden into the sixers unless Brogdon involved gets us another pick. Definitely could help those later on picks be valuable too, if the arms race gets one or both Bucks/Celtics tapped out and rebuilding by then. 🤔

I wanted the blazers to trade Jrue Holiday to the warriors for CP, and Kuminga. Could’ve traded CP on to lakers for jared Vanderbilt and than couldve traded J. Grant for picks and filler. Our lineup would include scoot, simons/sharpe, Kuminga, Vanderbilt, and Ayton. SMH

The players he gets for Portlands future is really Ayton and Williams III.
BOTH players are in the 26 and younger range and BOTH players fit the NEEDS Portland had.
They got length and height. Let’s see who they get for Brogdon. Perhaps a first rounder? Perhaps another young and needed wing player.
Portland could’ve accelerated their rebuild now (as you said in a summer video of “what step of a rebuild are the Blazers in?”) by another year, to a year and a half.
Those picks?
They’ll come when Williams III Simons, and Ayton are in their primes and Scoot & Sharpe will be in their mid 20’s and possibly young All Stars!
Now, do the Blazers trade Grant or keep him?
If they move him, there’s even more compensation and less of a “salary hit” by the 2024 season.
Excluding Grant, this is a near COMPLETE, YOUNG starting 5. Teese, your sixth man.
They need some depth.
That could come from the Brogdon trade and possibly the Grant trade.
Then, with some lottery luck, their roster could really be filling out well.

Wow, Portland has gotten assets for the future and their team looks solid in the present. They have already had really good guards and just picked up two really good bigs in Ayton and Williams. What Portland is doing is very impressive.
