Rob Williams aka time lord

Out of all the guys we lost this season:
– Marcus Smart (hurt the most emotionally but was understandable in a roster perspective)
– Danilo Gallinari (felt for him cuz he always wanted to be a Celtic but never got the chance to play due to injury)
– Mike Muscala (slept on role player really thought he could have got some minutes in the Philly series, underappreciated)
– Malcolm Brogdon (felt for him cuz he got 6moty and was automatically in trade talks. Even got traded to LAC and then they turned it down last minute due to his injury. Again, understandable in a roster perspective)
– Grant Williams (felt for him when he missed 2 regular season games and Joe was not playing him key moments in the playoffs which still doesn’t make sense to me. We loved him but he does get carried away with his personality/ego aka I’ll make both)

Robert Williams hurt the most. Yeah I get it he’s injury prone but so is Porzingis. Rob is a rare player in today’s league they don’t make bigs like him anymore. He made a defensive team when he was healthy and is still so young. I really think we could have used him. I just don’t know about this one. I would have even given away anyone but the starting 5 and Derrick White. I feel like this hurt Jayson Tatum a lot too as per his IG post. Rob was super key in the Philly series a pure game changer especially against Embiid. Horford was key against Giannis. I just don’t get this trade.

I will miss him the most, his injuries really limited his playtime, but man when he was healthy, he was insane as a defender and passer. Hopefully we get him back one day 🙁

One of the greatest Celtics nicknames out there. Hope he retires a Celtic; right along Taco. Thank you for your service.

I get the trade. We added an all-star point guard to replace Marcus Smart. We’ve upgraded 2 of our 5 starters.
But I’m not going to pretend I’m not also concerned about the lack of big depth now with KP’s injury history and Al’s age given that we also lost Grant’s 26 minutes per game. Unless Gabriel or Walsh really impress, we’ve gotten a whole lot thinner in terms of depth just by virtue of Grant leaving. That’s a lot of minutes to replace.

As a Celtics-Blazers fan I LOVE this trade
