I hear a bunch of analysts saying Tyrese needs to up his points.
I as a fan would prefer we focus on his strength. Adding more assist makes the offensive more dynamic and less predictable if Tyrese makes the jump Stockton did.
I don’t see many instances where tyrese makes a bad pass and I think “oh, he should have shot that!” Very often.
Do you guys think we will see a bigger jump in points or assists this season?

Now all he needs is a top 20 player all time to pass to and he can jump up to 15 lol

Damn near 15 assists per game is just insane.
I am curious how this compares when taking the different eras into account. Was Stockton a lot higher than everyone else or did other teams also have double-digit assist PG’s?
It’s interesting to see how things have changed a little over the years.

Was this play style or just a golden era for PG’s? In the late 1980’s, there were 4-5 guys racking up 10+ APG. Stockton, Magic, Isaiah, Mark Jackson, Kevin Johnson. Teams as a whole averaged 25-26 APG. That slowly declined and bottomed out at 20.6 APG in 2005-06. It’s risen back up to 24-25 APG for the past 5 consecutive seasons. Again, is this a game play change or just the current era of PG’s and their style of play?
Definitely noticeable in the league by year stats is the 3-pt. In 1987-88, the year Stockton jumped from 8APG to 13 APG, whole teams were attempting just 5 3-pters per game. Now we think a shooter is having an off night if he doesn’t even attempt 5/night. Myles Turner himself averages 4 3pt attempts per game.
