RJ was projected to slide Julius down to the 3rd option… Despite that 1st game in Memphis, the team was being led by RJ in shot attempts..
They kept losing… RJ was playing so bad vs OKC at the Garden Thibs finally benched him…
But what happened the very next game? The fake "RJ is sick" storyline but he was still leading the team in shots while "sick" ??? Randle and Brunson are healthy.
That don't sound like politics to you?? RJ is not Luka or any other young star where he gets to play through his bad games..
They literally ran a fake sick narrative for RJ to buy him time to have a good game… He kept struggling…
If he was that "sick" that was the only opportunity Cam Reddish /Fournier had to play a bigger role next to Brunson & Randle without RJ in the way.
But they never got that opportunity… Instead on Randle's birthday is when they officially slid RJ into his 3rd option role.
Julius now got to take over a little more.. And Brunson would close. Knicks began winning AFTER RJ was slid into that 3rd option role.
