[Greif] Westbrook made clear to Clippers players that attending team dinners, and workouts, were mandatory during the San Diego weekend retreat. The only players who did not attend were Nicolas Batum and Ivica Zubac, who were out of the country… and Marcus Morris Sr. who simply did not attend.

> The Clippers, like numerous other teams, have held informal player-run retreats before, including their August gathering in San Diego. But “taking us out in Vegas, I haven’t had a teammate do something like that before,” center Mason Plumlee said Monday as the Clippers began training camp, calling Westbrook an “amazing host.”

Marcus Morris also recently unfollowed LA starting Point Guard Russell Westbrook on Instagram. As stated above Westbrook was the one who organized the retreat and gifted all the players who attended iPhone 15s.

This Summer, Marcus Morris on Threads said: “I wish I had my Twitter. Bum ass clipper fans lol”

Sounds like things are not in good standing between Marcus Morris Sr. and the Los Angeles Clippers.

#EDIT: The retreats were in Las Vegas not San Diego

The Morris twins are both such total bitches lmfao

  2. Scoobersteve321

Marcus probably knows he out of the rotation now, atleast he fucking better be

  3. Purples_A_Fruit

This is one of those things that is kinda cool when it’s coming from one of the best players on the team, and a obnoxious when it’s coming from a bench warmer. Russ is more the latter than former nowadays, so I imagine Morris is like “*who the fuck is this dude trying to tell me what to do.*”

  4. IsaacDPOYFultzMIP

Marcus Morris would be on Threads

  5. Solid-Confidence-966

Wait, Westbrook is their leader like that? That’s really cool

  6. Dantiik

Is anyone surprised Marcus Morris didn’t show up? I mean it’s clear he doesn’t care about winning or his teammates. His ass should be playing for the Shanghai Sharks

  7. Obvious_Parsley3238

did he forget his twitter password or something

Happy to hear these kinds of Westbrook really is a great teammate stories after the crap he and his family went through last season.

  11. WhyTheMahoska

The Clips doing retreats in SD feels vaguely insulting, not gonna lie.

  12. _Zap_Rowsdower_

Do the Clippers always go to San Diego for training camp or is this just to please Kawhi?

  13. dms1298

Frank needs to get rid of this bum ASAP before Ty starts him 82 games.

  14. Btw. The Westbrook retreat was Las Vegas not San Diego. Re mandatory dinners and workouts

Ty Lue: I’m still giving him a lot of minutes.

    Morris is making it uncomfortable

  17. rattatatouille

and yet the man is the ostensible starting PF for the Clippers… what dirt does he have on Ty Lue?

  18. PJCR1916

What’s this dudes issue? And why does he have an issue with clippers fans? One probably called him a bum on social media and it hurt his feelings

  19. KokeyManiago

what’s the point of the whole team attending team dinners when 2 of your stars will probably not be with the team for most of the season

  20. willi3blaz3

    ~~Nissan Altima~~ Marcus Morris activities

  21. Did he tell Kawhi that playing games was mandatory too?

  22. WhenItsHalfPastFive

lol these “instructions” would seem at least reasonable if they came from PG or Kawhi, but why should these guys follow Russ orders

It actually seems as if, for right now at least, Mook may still be starting at the 4 going into the season. It doesn’t seem like Lue has totally given up on him being in the rotation. He’s headstrong and isn’t the quickest to make adjustments.

Mook has complained about his role and he’s complained about how Clipper fans blame him/attack him on social media. I don’t think the latter is the reason for his Russ snub and his sour attitude. The former is. That and the trade rumors…he doesn’t feel valued in LA, but the truth is that he’s just not as good as he thinks he is.

Clippers have wanted a guy who can create a bit around Kawhi/PG, take advantage of the attention those two command and take some scoring load off their shoulders but now they have Russ and I just don’t really see the value in starting Mook anymore, if he’s mostly gonna be a spot up guy…they have Batum for that who is a better defender, ball mover, screener, shooter. And he ain’t gonna complain about his role. I still think Morris could provide value off the bench in a scoring role if he would be humble and gracious enough to accept that.

Who fhkin cares. Replace him (Marcus) with a G League player with some heart and call it a day.

  25. SubZero_dot785

Clippers fans been slow roasting that man with ether for 6 months+

  26. Iontknowcuz

I love Westbrook. I lost so much respect for the Morris twins after one of them hit austin rivers because they couldn’t get to jokic.

  27. ThatPizzaKid

4th quarter yelling why the fuck Batum in

  28. CupOfHotTeaa

Say all you want about his game, Westbrook is one of the best human being in the league. A total class act
