Are any of you Raptor fans in contact with former sports guru Gary Mugford? We corresponded about Raptors and Pacers for years but he no longer responds and I think his health may have failed and put him in a nursing home or worse.

The problem with looking at the defensive numbers after Jak was acquired is that the strength of competition wasn't there. For example. Charlotte had been winning games towards the end of the season, but then pulled EVERYONE and put their G-League out there for the double-header against the Raps. Boston didn't even play all their stars against us in both of our two games, but still swatted the fully loaded Raps like a fly. The Raps SHOULD have been better, especially better than they were the season before down the stretch (when they were really good). But they weren't. That's what we don't understand, and all the high level analytics in the world don't explain it.

Great Anaylsis. It still confuses me though that major media types like Samson when talking about Masai's speech after the deadline, focus on Scottie without mentioning the selfish play and poor leadership that Fred brought both on the court and in post game interviews last year.
