Raptors Trade Rumors: The Shocking Pursuit Of Malcolm Brogdon

The Toronto Raptors have yet another opportunity to trade for a point guard after the effects of the Damian Lillard trade have sent Jrue Holiday to the Boston Celtics and Malcolm Brogdon to the Portland Trail Blazers. Masai Ujiri’s front office had a major interest in the point guard just one year ago when he was still on the Pacers but ultimately the player decided to go to Boston even after Toronto struck a deal with Indiana.

Another chance to acquire the player has presented itself on a cut-price deal so what exactly will it take to have the winning bid for the player and should the Toronto Raptors really try to go through with it?

  1. Flynn, Thad, Porter Jr and a handul of 2nd round picks for Brogdon would work perfectly. Even a first if its what it takes

  2. I like Brogdan’s game a lot, but I just don’t see how this trade makes sense for us. Brogdan doesn’t move the needle much, even as talented as he is. Giving up draft capital for him is scary, as well. We already don’t have this years frp, on top of that the east just got LOADED.

  3. this guy spurned the Raps once but they still looking to gre him. maybe his mindset has changed after bad blood with the celtics. but like you said, injuries still an issue. Brogson is not worth more than a pick by itseld or two swaps. pick and swap is way too high. Maybe a conbination of second rounders. Raps have to maintain future flexibility.

  4. OG.. or Gradey Dick.. or suck it. ; ]
    Ujiry needs to trade SOMEBODY…
U Cant Kp being greedy & trying to have a team w/ '5 or 6' WINGS
who all need MINUTES & to develop!!! ; ]

Blazers FINALLY Got Balanced thru trades!!!
Toronto fans need to DEMAND the same thing from their Gm & owners!!!

  5. We can’t pay him $20+ million. That’s insane. We need to pay other guys at the end of the year. He would be like the 7th guy on this team. And making 23 million? Hell no. This would be stupid as fk

  6. No team is looking to trade with the Raptors. Masai Ujiri overvalues his players and undervalues other team players. He negotiates in poor faith. No one wants to trade with him. They are not going to take your trash package. Every player you mention is not a real rotation player. Try Gary Trent Jr and Grady Dick. You listen to Masai Ujiri for too long.

  7. Enough already with trading first rounders for mediocre rotation players. That’s not how you build a winner – that’s how you ensure you’re treading water in no-man’s-land for a while.

  8. If we could somehow get him for say Boucher, Thad and a couple seconds I would be all over it. For the cost of a first round pick (which is likely what it will take) I would be out.

  9. Its a gamble, hes always hurt. We already had Otto porter hanging out for two seasons. Also whats the point, this team isnt going anywhere. East is stacked these days. Bucks, Celtics, Cavs, Sixers(despite what people are saying), Knicks and (still cannot count out) the Heat are all better than the Raptors.

  10. A trade for Brogdon doesn’t make sense for us. I think we should keep our future pick. I think we should see how this new coaches system looks with what we got. I think Flynn could really flourish in this system. I also want to really good look Jevon and Marquis. I’m super high on Freedom-Liberty! I think his games gonna translate well to the NBA. His game reminds me a lot of Delon Wright. Until another “Star” comes available I think it’s smarter it sit on our assets. brogdon isn’t a needle mover and isn’t gonna get us closer to winning a championship. Let’s focus on our current roster construction and our free agents to be….. are we extending siakam or should we look at an Atlanta deal again and maybe push a bit harder given the moves the Bucks and Celtics have made recently. Atlanta may be more willing to give up Bufkins now which would solve our PG problem. Also I’m a HUGE fan of Aj Griffin. His shooting and defence is amazing for a player who’s only played one season. He’s a future star! He would also give us insurance if/when OG leaves on free agency and would match the Scottie time line and would be the PERFECT player to team with Scottie going forward.

  11. Hes probably going to the west as the east seems locked up. But as a blazer fan we'd love those assets if you guys want to give it lol

  12. 3 way trade maybe?

    Raptors Receive:
    Malcolm Brogdon

    Knicks Receive:
    Chris Boucher
    Thaddeus Young

    Blazers Receive:
    Malachi Flynn
    Evan Fournier
2 srps from the Knicks (they have over 10 seconds in the next 6 seasons)
    26’ srp via Raptors
