A bit shocking it’s not Grande. Hopefully that was his choice.

Going to be weird having someone with no ties to Boston or the Celtics trying to fill such big shoes.

I’ve never even heard of sure carter? I’m not sure I’m happy with this, something about the play by play being an older man makes it all sound better

  3. nibbinoo8

who? i was hoping for grande.

edit: [found this highlight reel lol](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpYMTfpELC8), yes, a highlight reel for an announcer. gotta say, dude is young but seems like a real professional that is cut from the old school mike breen style play by play guys. hopefully boston grows on him (think he’s from minnesota)

  4. chicocobob

What about side mouth talking chris forsberg

  5. coacoanutbenjamn

We got to win it this year to send Gorman out with a championship

  6. Beantown00

Who tf id this guy lmao. Why go with some random 25 year old with no ties to the Celtics?

  7. Medium_Egg1968

I’m not upset about it but it seems like an odd decision considering how many people were interested in the job. This dude is young, relatively inexperienced, no connection to the area and probably doesn’t even care about basketball very much considering he’s called like 5 different sports in his short career. It seems like he’ll bring the least amount of character, knowledge and personality out of any of the options they had. Its going to be so weird going from a guy who’s seen it all to a guy who’s probably never watched a Celtics game before.

From what I heard, I like his voice. I ain’t gonna shit on the guy until I really hear him calling games to see what it’s like.

Who in the fresh fuck is Drew Carter?

Anyways, just as long as we don’t get Scal and Perk with special guest blazed-out-of-his-mind Eddie House, it will be fine

    Now announce a new color-commentator.

  11. luvvdmycat

    Thank God it’s not Grande.

Hope the new guy is vanilla and lets the game breathe.

Dude must’ve absolutely nailed his audition.

I’ll be honest, I’m a little worried about Scal without Mike. Idk why but I feel Scal tends to talk over or just counterpoint every opinion of fellow announcers if they’re not above his level. Like am I the only one that thinks he just shoots down Abby left and right lol

This may be a controversial opinion in this sub, but I’m not much of a fan of Grande on TV. He rambles a lot, and he could have an interesting point about Hauser’s shooting numbers or something, but he will just keep trying to go back to it as the game has gone on and the point becomes more irrelevant.

I much prefer him on the radio, and honestly listening to him on some podcasts it sounds like Grande would rather do radio full time over TV full time if he had to choose

He has a voice for college basketball lol

Extremely disappointing…being from Boston should have been a requirement. Going from a legend from Dorchester like Mike to some young kid from Minnesota feels like the end of an era. Watching games with Mike and Tommy was like watching games with your friends or at a bar, it’s gonna feel way too sterilized now. The second fans from other teams say “I actually like the Celtics broadcast now” we know that era is dead and buried. Very sad
