Wolstat- MLSE says it’s making “$350 million investment and multi-phase renovation” of Scotiabank Arena. “Will feature capital improvements to almost all areas within the venue including concourses, suites, premium clubs, retail spaces, food and beverage offerings … “ etc.

Here come the gambling sections.

Makes sense they’re doing renos considering they’d be getting zero money from the government for a new building.

Wasn’t it already known they were renovating the arena? They already fixed the box suites (because those people come first) and then will redo the lower level.

Need more bathrooms or even optimized flow in/out of the bathrooms. Terrible to come back to your seats at halftime. Alot of the flow of people is very inefficient – empty crowd after half is a horrible vibe and momentum killer for the team.

Will they make any improvements to the basketball team?

  5. Glad both downtown arenas/stadiums are going this route instead of tearing down or moving to another spot. There’s no beating Scotiabank arenas location.

Here comes the lounges and standing room sections. Gotta get to the game 2 hours early and never need to use the bathroom or you’re stuck watching the game on screens from an in stadium sports bar.

I’d like a Cannabis lounge, please and thank you.

  9. bigger seat that actually you can fit in and breath would be nice!

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but honestly… they need more leg space in the seats. I sat through a game last December having to keep my legs completely straight like I was on the TTC with people on either side. For hours. Cool shit happened in the game, but 98% of the time I was just feeling it

Also, I’m not like morbidly obese I could afford to drop some weight but I wasn’t spilling out of my seat or anything

It’s going to be like the dome where improvements simply mean more luxury areas and places for people to drink beer with their friends, lol.

  12. Random fact. When the arena was built it had the smallest volume of any arena (with that seating capacity) in North America. I have no clue if this is still the case, but it certainly is a factor in how it can get so loud.

This is very exciting. About time Scotiabank got a major upgrade. Looking forward to experiencing the renos.

It would be cool to have a casino like Edmonton has in theirs

Would be nice if they finally made the switch to concert lighting like MSG or Staples. They installed a version for the ASG and it was dope af. I hate the current super glare lighting
