[Fedor] J.B. Bickerstaff on his rotation: “We could easily go 11 deep. … The 11th guy will find his minutes throughout the bulk of season. It’s difficult to get to 11 guys of consistency in a 48-minute game. But that 10th man can rotate b/w whoever the 11th, 12th or 10th guy is”

    Who would be the 11th on the team? After our starting lineup, which would be

    1. Garland
    2. Mitchell
    3. Strus
    4. Mobley
    5. Allen

    Our definite players off the bench (in order of how many minutes I think they get) are

    6. LeVert
    7. Okoro
    8. Niang
    9. Wade

    If I had to guess, I think Emoni Bates ends up at the back of the rotation if JB wants to go that deep and then we probably give Damian Jones or Thompson some minutes to tag out Mobley or Allen.

  2. believe it when I see it, JB has a really tight rotation historically and has trouble getting to 10 consistent guys

    a rotational player is generally defined as +15 mpg for 75% of the season, rotations are generally 10-12 guys, let’s look at it per year JB has been coach

    (8 man rotation in the reg season, in the aggregate 9 as Wade/Love combined meet the threshold even if doing so prob means Lamar doesn’t)

    * Spida – 35.8 mpg
    * DG – 35.5
    * Evan Mobley – 34.4
    * Jarrett Allen – 32.6
    * Caris LeVert – 30.2
    * Isaac Okoro – 21.7
    * Dean Wade (didn’t play enough games to qualify)
    * Cedi Osman – 20.1
    * K Love (didn’t play enough games to qualify)
    * Lamar Stevens – 18.1
    * Ricky (didn’t play enough games to qualify)

    * JA – 32.3
    * Lauri – 30.8
    * Caris (not enough games to qualify)
    * Isaac – 29.6
    * Collin – 28.7
    * Ricky (not enough games to qualify)
    * Love – 22.5
    * Cedi – 22.2
    * Dean Wade – 19.2
    * Lamar – 16.1

    (literally 3 meet the criteria, tons of trades this year and a few injuries skewing things though. 25 players playing at least 5 mpg, we were tanking/hunting for rotational guys)

  3. We could easily go 11 deep. But we won’t. 7 maybe 8 at most from JB. Then when guys go cold or get tired or in foul trouble in the playoffs, he will have to play dudes that aren’t used to playing regular minutes. I can see it now

    There’s so many ways that coach holds this team back
