Poeltl has a calm demeanour, playing him at the elbow will be interesting. I think the Raptors should experiment with everything.

He’s the most intelligent player on the floor

We really traded a top 6 protected first for a center that can’t dribble, pass, shoot 3’s and is a career 53% FT shooter.
Playing him at the elbow instead of in the low post where he’s actually effective doesn’t make much sense to me.

Looking at the footage of Jakob passing on the Spurs, I would definitely be interested in seeing these actions run with Scottie/Pascal at the rim. Overall I’m not against running more stuff through Jakob. He’s a great passer for his position and the Raptors are going to need to run some more unconventional stuff to generate offense with what little spacing they have.

Love it. Poeltl has shown since early in his career that he has great IQ, makes the right read most of the time and is a pretty good passer for a big as well as a great finisher around the rim. Excited to see him featured more prominently in the offence.

Gotta make someone guard him somehow

Gasol like vibes 😤
Also, people gotta cool it with the like adding 3 pts to his assists average as a prediction lol. He’s the type of guy who passes to the guy… who THEN passes to the guy that makes the shot. He’s smart enough to set up plays like that, and has none of the ego to rack up stats.

Makes my nips hard. Raps where the best team in the league when they were running offence through Gasol. Poetl ain’t no Gasol, but he’s as big and perhaps as strong. If he can do what he did on the Spurs, the raps will have a whole new angle of options. Love it.

I miss Marc Gasol so much, he was the perfect Center for this team. If Poeltl can develop a 3, for when he’s wide open, (like JV did) then this team can be really good.

Because it worked with Marc, obv.

It would be wise to have him in a Gasol type role as a slight point center but more someone who just gets touches as opposed to flat out running the offense. He is a fairly good passer and is worth incorporating it where you can.

Of course it makes sense, he’s smart asf and he’s a great player
