Darko must have had predispositions about Pascal being a ball hog or something. Pascal has proven he can plug into most offensive schemes where he doesn’t need to be the focal point

Edit: some of y’all are taking this one quote from today way too heavily not realizing the context of Darko avoiding talking about Pascal in particular until now.

Wheres that user that was saying Pascal wasn’t talking to Darko because they didn’t see any social media posts lmao

    1. What else is Darko supposed to say?…”Pascal is struggling, he’s not taking to the off-ball movement”…lol
    2. The proof will be in the pudding, i.e. let’s see it on the court when the games matter

Good to hear. Raptors offense was pretty stagnant last year, a lot of standing around and ball watching. No knock against Pascal specially, offensive movement requires everybody to move, not just one guy.

After watching all the offensive movement European teams used at the World Cup, I am hoping to see more of the same from our team.

makes sense as Pascal was originally a system player before he blossomed into what he is right now. Euroleague style in the nba here we go!

I would love if we can keep all these guys, if they can all play well. Not sure how the FO will do it with all the huge contracts up; but would be nice.

Oh fuck I’m excited again, please don’t disappoint me

It would be super refreshing if everyone on the team can actually be ok with the idea that you can grow as a player without the ball necessarily. There was this weird implication for years now that “development” was only what can you do with the ball with your hand, then you have guys like og not doing well at isolation and not growing their games at all in that regard. Fred also bristling at playing off ball as some kind of demotion. The summer league looking offense we had last year. Siakam can be a great player playing off the ball and it won’t negatively impact his earning one bit

He made a name for himself being a great off-ball player when he broke out with the bench mob that season

I get that this is all for the purpose of making a 3-4 forward lineup work, but Siakam was pretty good with the ball in his hands in a heliocentric role, so I’m not entirely thrilled that he’ll be doing significantly less of that. In regards to “selfishness”, Siakam literally started in an offball role and was more than willing to have multiple role changes (I.e. last year when Jakob came). My only points of frustration with him have to do with his clutch time effectiveness, but that’s only because of how over pressured he seems to be as THE designated ISO guy under Nick Nurse’s system. I guess the trade off with Darko is that he’ll have less weight on his shoulders, so we’ll see how it turns out…
