[Amick] In recent days the LA Clippers have been going to great lengths to make a trade for James Harden. The Clippers have been talking to several teams about ways to move pick swaps for additional draft capital with the intention of bolstering their offer and getting a deal done.

> By taking part, Harden is avoiding the sort of financial fate that Ben Simmons experienced when he lost approximately $20 million during his standoff with the Sixers during the 2021-22 season. But beyond the money matters, league sources say Harden also is taking part because he remains hopeful that a trade to the Clippers is still in the works and believes, for now, that it would be wise to not be a distraction. And the Clippers, league sources say, are going to great lengths to make it happen.

> The Clippers offered the Sixers an unprotected first-round pick, a pick swap and salaries for Harden in July, league sources say, but Philadelphia has set a much higher threshold. The Sixers have valued fifth-year forward Terance Mann and multiple first-round picks in a potential trade with the Clippers, sources added. Mann, who averaged 8.8 points and 3.4 rebounds a season ago, has become a prospect of interest for teams over the past couple years.

May as well their window is closing fast.

Clippers ***really*** don’t want to play Russ, huh? In one offseason they’ve tried to get: Harden, Brogdon, and Jrue.

I nominate the 2023-24 Clippers for All-NBA “would’ve been the greatest team ever five years ago” First Team

Whether we’re a 82-0 team or 0-82 team with him, it’ll still be interesting to watch the season unfold with him on the team anyways. Let’s do it

Oh shit is the trade actually gonna happen???

Bro’s about to be 27. He’s not a prospect anymore. He’s approaching grizzled veteran territory.

Clippers aren’t that serious if they’re not willing to add Mann in a deal.

Batum, Marcus Morris, Covington and the 2028 FRP unprotected is more than enough for James Harden

Morey would be getting back all expiring contracts which fits his 2024 cap space plan and he also gets an unprotected first which could be VERY juicy since by 2028 Kawhi and PG13 are gone and/or retired

And looking back at the WHOLE ordeal….you basically got a Clippers 2028 FRP AND still got off the Ben Simmons contract…..thats a huge W for Morey.

This guys refuses to just take this W and move on just do this trade you’re not getting better than a clippers unprotected 1st for a Harden rental

I wouldn’t trade more than 1 pick if I were the Clippers but Mann shouldn’t be holding up this deal. He’s gonna be 27 before the season starts, he’s a solid role player but not a young player with star upside

we’ve already offered too much if we offered an unprotected 1st

4 native soCal guys starting + Zubac lol

I cannot get excited about this season until Harden is either traded somewhere besides the Clippers, or we hear once and for all that the Clippers or Sixers have lost all interest in a trade.

Honestly it doesn’t make sense to help the clippers if the end goal is to get one or both of Kawhi or PG in free agency

I think the clippers have to bend over a barrel or it’s not worth it

Roco Batum Powell 2 picks and a swap all unprotected. And if they have a second round pick to throw in, even better

The more you help them now, the less likely it is Kawhi or PG leave

  15. ColtCallahan

Makes sense for the Sixers. You don’t wanna be relying on this guy when he’s unmotivated.

Am I stupid or does Harden have a better chance at a ring in Philadelphia. Like Embiid does have the whole playoffs choking/injury thing but like, there’s probably a better chance that Embiid can stay healthy enough for a post season run and play well than both kahwi and PG staying healthy enough. Obviously for Harden being in LA is a lot to do with him being from there and his family being there but from a pure winning perspective

I don’t see Morey doing this. If he doesn’t somehow net a star in return for Harden, Embiid’s walking out that door.

I can see something like Harden/whatever for LaVine at the trade deadline before they go after role players.

Harden coming back made them fold. Good. They realized they don’t have enough to win the west

  19. RealLanceStorm

Don’t you dare take away Harden in Harden mode playing home games in front of Philadelphia sports fans from us. I need at least a month or two of this.

  20. Why try. The dude has issues with every team he goes to. I’d rather keep my picks and develop players or trade when given the right opportunity.

All these movements to beat Naz Reid…

  22. lean23_email

Harden will have PTSD from Nets flashbacks when both PG & Kawhi sit and he has to carry the load solo for bulk of the season.

  23. superdraws

Clippers should get it done. They are all in already there’s no point holding back now. Give the team the best possible chance.

  24. I just got a deja vu!

So who‘s coming out of nowhere to snatch him away from the Clips? Atlanta? Knicks? Grizz?
