This might be a wild reach but…

I can kinda see a scenario where Jordan walsh can eventually develop (3-5 years down the line) into a Khris Middleton type of player. This may be totally far fetched but I kinda see a path where he has so many similarities to him (long guard, solid shooter with room for growth, good character) with a similar kind of jumpshot. Just look at the video from :33-:55 and to me it just screams khris Middletons game and idk if I’m crazy but I can see Brads vision. He even has the bonus elite wingspan and athleticism with a defensive motor and energy guy. He’s def a better prospect than I initially thought. Of course he has many flaws that need to be fixed as do most young prospects but he seems like a good coachable kid that’ll work hard and be a pretty good player. Maybe could have a similar role as Christian Braun the rookie from Denver on their championship team if he gets some time and impresses 🤷‍♂️ Let me know if anyone else’s sees the vision.

Doubt he sees the floor unless it’s garbage time this season. And unfortunately if in 3/5 years if he develops into Middleton we probably wouldn’t be able to afford him. Not sure he has that high of a ceiling. Could develop into a plus defender, but his offensive game needs a ton of work.

I like what I saw from him in summer league and his versatility on defense could help him stand out on the bench. If his 3 is falling then he could get some run.

He’s got some natural basketball instincts that you don’t find in even some of the highest picks in the draft. I am very high on him given the quality of organization he will be learning under. I would not be surprised at all if he became part of the core of this team by the end of his rookie contract.

I think he looks good enough to contribute with extra defensive energy, and spacing the floor with his range, but I’m pretty concerned with what look like fairly slow shot mechanics. He’ll get shots off if totally open, but I worry that the extra closing speed at the next level is going to cause him to get blocked, or force him to drive into traffic, where to be brutally honest, he looks like he’s all limbs…

Middleton was an offensive stud that was the 2nd best player on a finals team, this is an insane reach lmao.

Walsh’s potential lies in his defense due to feel, athleticism, and size. What you hope is his jumper develops enough so he’s a good 3 and D. And at best he just becomes an incredible defense dog that’s good on offense. Definitely not the Middleton archetype.

Contribution wise don’t expect much. The kid is 19, Braun was much older and experienced. Just hope to see flashes from him this season.

The pros of Walsh are his excellent attitude, body, athleticism, defensive instincts. This is a great base to build off of and he is in the right environment to continue learning. It’s clear the organization believes he is still extremely raw with the additions of Brissett and Stevens, so we shouldn’t be expecting any type of breakout season.

If he can maintain his upbeat personality and willingness to learn, he will at least carve out a role in this league. How much of a role remains to be seen, but there are very few physical limitations on him moving forward.
