I think the play-in picture is gonna be pretty fluid this year but I can definitely see a world where the Cavs nudge into that top 3 spot and the Sixers fall a little, Cavs have a really solid regular season group
Cavs over bucks is crazy. Wtf are they smoking when creating the prediction model
48.5? Lol
In the famous words of Demarcus cousins “it’s getting ridiculous” how are we somehow worse than the Celtics and cavs after arguably the biggest offseason in franchise history a year after we were the 1 seed….
Who cares
Milwaukee tax
I’m prepared for us to fall a little in the standings this year.
We are mostly built for the playoffs now, which should be a good thing.
And don’t forget, we have a new coaching team and we will experiment a lot during the season.
Who cares about regular season finish.
Finals or bust.
I for one don’t care about regular season unless something goes drastically south. Our record does not matter. However, predicting us to not win 50 games is a joke. On top of that, I don’t think the Celtics have a better team than they did last year. Yes they added Jrue and Porzingis, but they lost the entire life of there team otherwise.
This must have been made before the Dame trade. Had to be.
55 easy for us.
remember the last time we got the 3 seed? championship in 21
Predictions are clickbait.
Damn guys. I’m starting to believe the media hype. Jrue must be twice the player Dame is to have this kind of impact. I guess Donovan Mitchell is better too.
Should we try to trade Dame for either one?
*edit* the fact that people can’t tell what sarcasm is baffles me.
Pretty sure it’s a computer simulation run a couple thousand times and averaged.
Also who cares?
The books have us at 54-55 wins. So 48 is just absurdly low. I’d be extremely surprised if we didn’t get 50 wins.
This list makes me unreasonably upset. The disrespect is* fucking ridiculous. Under 50 wins? This has to be trolling clickbait.
I think the ESPN model really values point differential, but to me having a new head coach (and systems) and a new backcourt makes it a tough guess. They won 58 games last year but it was in direct correlation to the Celtics pushing, too. Two years ago Miami was the No. 1 seed with 53 wins. In the shortened 20-21 season, Philly was the top seed with a .681 win%, which is what, 55 wins?
I think it’s more of a nod to the East as a whole, thinking that bottom-tier teams like the Pistons, Magic and Pacers will win way more than a season ago. So if they do, those have to come from somewhere.
Guys, it’s just a simulation that makes a lot of assumptions. Y’all need to calm down. You get so mad about everything.
This is fantastic news. Now if/when the Bucks are blowing the doors off teams they can’t say shit about the Bucks being a super team or whatever other nonsense they wanna use to discredit the team/Giannis/Dame. More ammo for Bucks fans to spam if they do.
I think this could be realistic if we sit our stars during the regular season. Our team is old af and built for the playoffs.
Under 50 wins is kinda wild
Considering Griffin’s emphasis on development it’s perfectly reasonable to put us behind the Celtics. Everyone who wants MarJon, AJax, and the other young dudes to get a bunch of PT better realize that it’s going to reflect in our record, too.
(I am one of those people btw)
The 4-letter is not allowed to go all in on the really small market teams as a general rule. Their takes became irrelevant a long time ago anyway.
Didn’t we win 58 with worse roster last season?
Any model is going to be doing some “regression toward the mean,” and of course we never know how injuries will shake out, but the Celtics being 6 games better than the bucks seems wrong.
