Miami Beat reporter Barry Jackson has been on an angry twitter spree today, replying to dozens of random users and trolls who criticize him

Barry Jackson has long received criticism for his homer style of reporting (this includes a great deal of the heat fanbase considering him insufferable as well)

Today he has been on twitter responding to dozens of random people who criticized him him, mostly for his covering of university of the university of Miami football program. I do not know if he was justified in some of his criticisms of the program, but his behavior in responding to random users has been hilariously unprofessional for a major newspaper reporter with over 100k followers

Here’s some examples:

In response to “shocked anyone pays you to write anything he says “shocked anyone gives you food and water”
https://x.com/flasportsbuzz/status/1711144727431532590?s=46&t=ULk4VoKmqDQds8qa3GI_pg

Responds to a user saying he should be losing his credentials with “sorry loser, I won’t be losing my credentials”

3 varieties of him telling people to “get lost”

Plain: https://x.com/flasportsbuzz/status/1711050949257519115?s=46&t=ULk4VoKmqDQds8qa3GI_pg

Loser: https://x.com/flasportsbuzz/status/1711055972074979744?s=46&t=ULk4VoKmqDQds8qa3GI_pg

Slim: https://x.com/flasportsbuzz/status/1711053781733880048?s=46&t=ULk4VoKmqDQds8qa3GI_pg

“I checked with Elon and he says it’s OK if you unfollow, buddy”
https://x.com/flasportsbuzz/status/1711063475080831132?s=46&t=ULk4VoKmqDQds8qa3GI_pg

Some of these responses might be funny if they were original and he wasn’t using the same insult multiple times in a row… and also if he wasn’t taking the bait from people who are obviously trying to provoke him

A lot of this is in response to him talking about the Miami program and how they are “lucky” that local media didn’t report a “police report coverup” in a possible sexual assault case. When called out for not reporting something that probably should be reported he responds by saying that because there were no charges he didn’t report anything… right after saying that the program is lucky no reporting happened and “they have no idea what we don’t report” https://x.com/flasportsbuzz/status/1711052202796593548?s=46&t=ULk4VoKmqDQds8qa3GI_pg and how things were “swept under the rug”, but he refuses to elaborate or name anyone as it was “he said she said and the staffer no longer works there”

For those wondering why I took so much time to do this, I was bored on a Sunday night and a heat fan I know posting about this. Thought it was funny and weird enough to share

What does college football have to do with the NBA?

  2. Raptors2017champs

I think you meant “Miami Heat Reporter”

  3. AashyLarry

He’s been in shambles since we missed out on Dame. Tough to witness tbh, he needs to move on.

  4. I think it’s hilarious that people expect athletes/beat writers/etc to just take trolling or any harsh comments on the chin, especially at the clip they do. That “be the bigger person” shit is so corny.

    >They’re fortunate no local media, including us, reported the police report cover up last year.

this is a truly pathetic tweet

  6. Both_Funny4896

u can tell the guy really wanted dame on the heat. I honestly feel bad

  7. lol this guy.. thank god we don’t have to see his twitter face on blazers sub anymore

  8. buzzcitybonehead

Rick Bonnell used to do this when he was the Hornets beat writer. Turns out he was struggling with drinking. He *hated* the Hornets too, and would tear into people who hated on them or supported them too much. It was bizarre.

Dude passed though. It’s really sad.

Only thing more pathetic than a twitter fued is this post caring about it.

this dude has been batshit crazy all summer long

  11. He’s kinda the perfect beat reporter for Miami cause I picture the average fan being just like him lol

  12. ThonThaddeo

After all his weirdo attempts to publicly shame and intimidate the Blazers on Twitter, I’m glad to see him eat shit wherever possible.

  13. Frantically wrote and posted this as if everyone is paying attention to Miami best writers.

Is this guy who said “24 hrs fr fr” or something

  15. Nuclearsunburn

Either this is his new brand or he needs a break from socials. Memes aside I’m worried about his mental health when Twitter has this much of a hold on him.

    >and how things were “swept under the rug”, but he refuses to elaborate or name anyone as it was “he said she said and the staffer no longer works there”

That’s kind of scummy. It puts many people under suspicion for no reason.

He really thought he ate with the “food and water” tweet 🙃

“Heat culture” clearly doesn’t apply to their tepid and pathetic fan base.

I’m sure we all remember their fans leaving the arena during a postseason game and later being denied re entry while their team pulled off a historic come back win.

If people want to lose their shit on social media, it’s whatever. If someone can criticize him, he’s allowed to reply back even if it’s to every person who does so. I feel that way for players too. As long as they don’t say something that crosses boundaries, it’s fine.

Between this and the Heat being the first to virtue signal support for the Israeli apartheid state, Miami doesn’t seem to be taking well to losing out on Dame.

Dude also said recently that if he reported on half the skeletons he knows, he’s lose his credentials.

Like… what? It really feels like he’s trying to get fired or something. It’s very strange.
