With one preseason game in the books, it’s time to look back at some of the quotes that came out of the first Nets actions. Ben Simmons, Cam Thomas, and Jacque Vaughn all had interesting things to say following this game, expanding on some of the positive vibes coming from the playing time and rotations against the Lakers.
Ben Simmons and Cam Thomas very much seem to be on the same page with Jacque Vaughn when it comes to playing time and respective role. And this is a very good thing for the Brooklyn Nets leading into this season. After a summer of wondering what was going on, we are getting more clarity about how the organization views everyone’s roles.

It was great to see the so-called rumors concerning frustration between coach Vaughn and Thomas take a much positive direction.
Cam Thomas offered a lot of praise to Coach Vaughn for being the first real coach to try to help him improve and mature all aspects of his game. Coach Vaughn said Thomas earned the opening start and while he appreciates Thomas taking his scoring abilities to new levels he will still look at the defensive and playmaking improvements and he says Thomas is getting better which is great to see their relationship has improved.
it's funny how we all only talked about Cam & Simmons being the two guys we all have high expectations for this season and for the first preseason game they both ball out fr again it's just one game…but cool to see.
If they don't see Spencer Dinwiddie as part of the future, I would start Cam. This year is about building for next season.The more he plays this season, the bigger jump in his development next season. My concern is more Simmons and Claxton sharing the floor together. Will they move off Simmons when his value rises or trade Claxton for a better fit going forward?
