Seems like he wanted out of Charlotte as badly as Charlotte wanted off of him. But the question now is: Does any team take a chance on Kai Jones after this behavior?

He just needs help. Hopefully he gets it. Worked his entire life to get to the nba and threw it away just like that

I think he literally means he’s gonna go live with goats

  3. This is some Royce White “yeet my NBA career off a cliff for no reason” type of shit.

Something tells me there’s a spoon somewhere in Kai Jone’s house rn that is unusually warm…

  5. I’m torn between laughing and being sad for what this dude threw away

Does this guy not have any family or friends in his life?

  7. EggplantBusiness

You cant help someone who doesnt want to be helped but this guy worry me , what a strange turn of events.

Really hoping he isn’t the next Swanigan. Mental health troubles and/or substance abuse issues are no laughing matter, and I hope he is able to get beyond whatever is at the root of all of this. Having seen this stuff in my family, close up, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Not at the NBA level. G-League level, a comeback is possible, and working his way back up. But teams at this time don’t believe he can contribute to their squads with his situation being what it is. He’s not really in the mental space to really proactively seek help or admit he may have a problem—somewhat similar to Antonio Brown and he never really got back. Kai is younger, but mental illness isn’t a light switch.

He’s gotta display a measure of stability for a team to be willing to take a shot on him. He’s not in the space to do so at this time for whatever the reason may be.

  10. He will get signed by someone but it might not be an NBA team.

This poor guy. Isn’t there a baseball player who had a similar manic episode before being found homeless a few years later? I’m pretty sure the team put him back on the payroll so he can get continued therapy.

This Mf atleast top 5 in nba social media

  13. Dellewfellew

Maybe with a change of scenery he will find a coach who will ground him. Hope it works out. This mentality doesn’t help

  14. illogicalhawk

Most players dream of reaching the NBA; I guess Kai dreamt of getting cut from it?

  15. LMcVann44

    This dude is cooked.

How long has he been acting out for now? Hope he gets help if he needs it.

  16. Powpowpowowowow

Bro of course teams take a chance on him. Like, do you guys not remember Metta world peace and shit? He didn’t do anything THAT bad, just some weird ass posts and clearly wanting out of the Hornets for whatever reason. He is good enough where someone will sign him no question, the people here saying he needs to learn chinese are high.

  18. CookieMonsterNova

talent excuses most if not all problems. this guy is not talented enough to be excused

  19. JackNoDaniels

I can’t tell if this is him being crazy or the Hornets being bad cause lololol goat life

  20. CantReadGood_

Man who used to make millions working 6 months a year says he prayed for unemployment.

  21. StrongCategory

Fucking praying Kai gets the resources he needs.

  22. Cheesecakereall8

I honestly feel bad for this guy, this seems like some sort of mental/manic episode and he clearly needs help but seems to not have any support system that will help him out.

  23. Tearz_in_rain

    Kai: Trade me.

Charlotte: Nobody wants you, including us, so we jus’ gonna waive you.

  24. iHateOPsoMuch

Hopefully the NBA reaches out and tries to help him. Hopefully he’s also open for receiving help.

  25. Buttholes4Everyone

I would laugh if a him or some player pulled an acting stunt to get waved out of their contract.

Anytime I see Kai Jones name this off-season I use it as reminder to talk care of my mental health because he sure as hell isn’t.
