Analytics Insider is such a dumb commentary… They’re just these silly “advanced stats” that gives a dude make himself sound super smart:
“When the Blazers have the ball 43.77% in total time of possession, they make an average of 44.98% of their shots, ranking 13th overall in the NBA”

I liked Corey personally. He was awkward and quirky but it gave it some personality. At first I didnt, but I grew to appreciate it.
Which does mean it doesnt align with their broadcast goals as have been stated.

Knew this was the case when the other dude was on the first preseason game. Good move. Unfortunately Corey was not a good speaker for tv.

I will say, Corey and his family just had a baby according to his insta. I will give the benefit of the doubt that it was more mutual. Good dude, like his presence, even it was a bit amateurish

Did we know this was going to happen? The first I had heard of it was people talking about Tom during the first broadcast that wasn’t a broadcast.

Is Tom going to be moving to Portland? Lots of food recommendations for him! He’s been based out of NC for a while. Now I can see why Basketball Illuminate ended on short notice

The main problem with Corey was that they introduced him as an “analytics guru”. Referring to him as a “guru” almost trivialized what he was doing instead of treating it as something of value that was to be respected.
They should’ve referred to him as like their analytics expert or their head analyst. Couple this with his awkward personality and he was doomed from the start.
