Are the Clippers even gonna give him a long term contract tho? He’s gonna end up in the same situation this off-season anyway.

  2. He did say he’ll try and play the last pre-season game against the Hawks on 10/20.

Don’t blame a guy for wanting to be paid but I also don’t blame the front office for not wanting to pay him $40m at age 38 lol

  4. he was ready to leave for Houston at least since the Xmas

Can’t blame him for wanting to provide for his family. Especially with inflation and the cost of college, wouldn’t want his future kids to be taking out student loans

On one hand, I understand where Harden is coming from because based on the details, Morey never even offered him a contract (2yr, 4yr etc). But at the same time, Harden has to have self awareness that he’s the 2nd maybe 3rd best player on the team so he’s not viewed of a high priority he once was in Houston

ya the retire thing is sus lol. but i believe he feels upset that the sixers didnt give him what he want

  8. ApoliticalAth3ist

He wanted to retire a Sixer so bad that he was talking to Houston?

Now that the petty pr/media battle is settling down it feels like something will get done that works for everyone. If only it would’ve started off this way

This guy is flat out trash. We have no room for him here in our Phamily.

It’s easy to hate on the dude, but I understand him from a trust/feeling valued perspective.

The provide for my family thing is a stupid thing all athletes say but really translates to being paid the value they think they’re worth.

Idk I can see both sides to this but it sucks as a fan either way

Harden, all we have to do is look at the press conference when we hired Nick Nurse. Daryl Morey said resigning you was their top priority. But you preempted that by opting in and requesting a trade.

He’s full of shit trying to paint himself as a poor innocent bystander in this. He’s an egomaniac, I can’t wait until we trade him and end this saga.

  14. Sprewell needs to talk some sense into this guy. I pretty much guarantee Harden could get a long term contract from us for ~$30 mil/year even after this season if he plays well, but he can’t get a long term max from anybody like he wants. There is not going to be that kind of market for Harden next season no matter what he does this year.

If the Clippers trade for him they will only be bidding against themselves. It’s exactly the same situation he has here. There is no team that is giving Harden a max in free agency so why would the team that has his bird rights offer him that much? There is no incentive to do that even if he surprisingly helps deliver a championship to one of these teams. He’s just too old to commit that kind of money to.

If the front office ends up overpaying some mid tier solid player next year with the CaP sPaCe they have I’m gonna lol. This dude for sure will be a heavy part of whatever team he’s on for 4 years

  16. Section_80

    He could have opted out.

Guy is playing victim when he is the one that chose to stay.

  17. Please James just fuck off to another team. The Sixers can keep the Bird rights. Take your millions and GTFO.

  18. TheMightyCatatafish

Bro. You’ve made like $300 million. Your family is taken care of for generations.

  19. jorgelongo2

How is Harden gonna feed his family, will somebody think of the children?

  20. SniperShake-

forcing his way off his 3rd team in 4 years—this time from a 50-win team with the MVP— is a pretty dumb “business decision”.

Unless it’s actually just him wanting to go play in LA because Daryl hurt his feelings (with an ACTUAL business decision)

  21. NutlessBlindSquirrel

He’s gonna choke Nurse at a practice mid season ain’t he

Please trade this carpetbagger for a bag of used balls! So tired of watching him shake and bake for 20 of the 24 seconds at the top of the key. Maxey got this!!!
