I have to say, this doesn’t look nearly as bad as it did previously.
I’m pissed at the way James handled the majority of the offseason (and HOU rumors last season), but I will give credit to James for showing up, being professional, being honest with the media, and above all, PLAYING. He looks in shape. Looks ready to go.
I did not see this coming – I think he finally realized he needed to be an adult in order to stay in the league.
I only wish he meant it when he said that the only thing that mattered to him when he came here was winning a title. He’s still absolutely a top 20-25 player in the league, and is definitely worth $35mil a year for 2,3, MAYBE 4 more years if injuries don’t get him… but you cannot justify paying him max money, and it seems like that’s all he really cares about.
Sad! I too thought James was going to retire a Sixer with at least one ring.
