That Podz rotation at 3:25 was the same one Poole kept fucking up, lost track of how many times he blew that rotation which led to an open 3

I’m a believer in podz. I like his composure, plays at his own pace.

The Podziemski- GP2 backcourt combination is sheer fucking magic. They are how Warriors basketball as a system should look and feel in non-steph minutes. The effort and energy us crazy.
I don’t think folks realize these two are constantly outworking their matchups. Podz just runs at a high rpm clip the whole game. Its weird. It’s good but it’s surprising to see a guy guying 85% constantly in odd spots where players are usually going 50%. He’s just always going what’s 85-90% effort for most players.
We get into arguments about how the system hasnt changed or innovated since 2017 and even the CP3 acquisition kinda stands up as a “change-up to the motion system” to a more traditional PnR look.
Podz and GP2 are the answer to the question “can the system work without star power?”
There’s like 12% of players who just get the system and fit in better… it’s sucks cuz even talented guys like DeMarcus Cousins and Nick Young kinda couldn’t get it entirely. But if you invest on the kinda BBIQ that it needs and the high motor. Willingness to continually move and work on both ends… not an easy as Russillo once did a “I’m gonna run further and screen 4x more and move twice as fast and defend with my hair on fire only to let Steph and Klay get all the shots… no thanks.” rant.
MDJ did work this offseason… he’s about to be certified gold if this works out like we hope it does.
