I like Castleton's game but I felt the same way about Jay Huff's game too. When the Lakers let Huff walk I remember thinking it was a mistake that would haunt the team. Huff hasn't become the player I thought he would yet. So I'm gonna trust the Lakers to make the right call. The Lakers have an excellent track record with late round and undrafted players.
Come on Jaxson Hayes playing against starters and rotational players. Castleton is nice but he playing second units or g league players when on the floor.
Based off his summer league performance I thought there was a chance Castleton could earn a roster spot, and in limited minutes, he has outplayed the flashier Hayes in preseason. He has a good skillset and always seems to be in the right position. I suspect the Lakers will mess it up with him like they did with Ivica Zubac (one of the worst trades in team history thanks to Magic Johnson), Jay Huff, and I fear maybe Cole Slider. But maybe Castleton will get a shot later in the season if Hayes underperforms.

Which Lakers has surprised you the most so far in preseason?
Isn't he 6'11 not 7'0?
