The moment Fred VanVleet exited this franchise this team automatically became better. Yes we love Fred VanVleet and happy for his story and rise to stardom to a star in the NBA and he will be forever in our hearts on his sacrifices on his role helping us win our first championship. Yes he have a good motivational story and we as Canadians are proud and happy for him. But we can’t sit here with eyes and brain and common sense not to acknowledge he was the weak link to this chain on the team. I watch him playing in Houston and this man defensive side is done he can’t keep up with his opponents we saw that with Philly and Maxey yes he can blame it on his back but that height of his career is finished. And saying and thinking he was the best player on the Raptors is nonsense we know that. This team is 10-15 games better without Fred.
I thinks Masai’s game plan is to pass the ball around to lower the value of Siakam, Trent, and OG to sign them all eventually for an extension( Siakam and OG max extension and Trent at around $20 mill – $25 mill a year).
If they play right they will get all max money we will spend but we want to see them play right
