  1. If they had gotten Chris Pau,l and he could have stayed healthy in playoffs I'd put them up there. An all-time great PG and an all-time great C both capable of 30 plus ppg (3 players with harden) with a couple other players capable of 20-25 p.p.g. THIS IS THE TEAM HE SHOULD HAVE GONE 2.

  2. Joel is not a true leader. He needs to be traded asap. Complains way too much and doesn’t take responsibility when needed.

  3. THE HEAT???? yall so disrespectful to the champs of the "loaded' east conference

heres a hot take for non heat fans, Jimmy and Bam are the better duo than Tatum/Brown based on winning matchups between the two and overall post season success. post season success part is literally factual. but everyone just loves sucking off the celtics even tho they stay getting smacked by the heat and their non drafted talent

  4. Just wait until he throws you under the bus. You're not winning with Embiid.

  5. I forgot JJ dont like James Harden since his sixer and clipperbdays 😂😂😂😂😂 JJ your a hater

  6. Don't know how Harden gets traded though. Clippers reportedly made Terrence Mann untouchable. Ridiculous.

  7. Giannis won his 1st MVP, lost before reaching the finals. Won again the next year, lost early in the playoffs again and caught MAJOR flak despite the whole Covid-shutdown thing. Won a championship the 3rd year. Jokic won his 1st MVP, lost before the finals. Won again the next year, lost early in the playoffs again and caught MAJOR flak despite the whole 2 injured Max contract teammates thing. Won a championship the 3rd year. If Joel alongside Tyrese + Tobias simply fight this season, even if they don't achieve much come playoff time, can be following the Giannis/Jokic trajectory as well. I really don't think PHI is as far away from a championship roster as people are making it out to be, esp. if Joel is able to play to his RS standard come playoff time.

I kinda think that this season for PHI is gonna be one where they actively try to change their offensive identity to more closely resemble DEN, SAC, GSW, & MIA. People can clown Embiid as a passer all they want, but everything out of PHI + Embiid (thru Ramona Shelburne) this offseason has been a desire for a more movement based offense with Embiid as a central hub just like those 4 teams and their respective bigman-playmakers.

  8. I really think even as a Celtics fan this will be the best year for the sixers nurse is an incredible coach and works well with young guys and vets considering the chip he won with Toronto this is a good team that has had so much drama over the years and while y’all ain’t beating us I want a good series

  9. Jester redick is the type of guy that would proclaim he’s smart in front of stephen hawking

  10. That knicks teams is going to be good defensively. not good enough to win it all offensively but they’re going to be good

  11. Embiid is a beast, but man, to me his game just doesn’t have the heart. Everyone loves to win but few hates to lose. And he ain’t one of them imo.

  12. If Jimmy Butler can take a bunch of nobodies to two NBA Finals why can’t Embiid atleast take Sixers to one ECF? Embiid has been defended enough. He is another Harden who will win regular season only. He is not BUILT to carry a team to a NBA championship.

  13. 🍀 Boston fan 🍀 ,they don’t have a chance of winning the East or getting to finals. They need to get rid of Joel and start rebuilding because he ain’t it for philly

  14. I think most people got a grudge for Embiid due to his last season. There were arguments that he shouldn't have won MVP, he dodged the match vs Jokic, and worst of all… he blamed the whole team except him for losing in the playoffs. I don't know how can you share a lock room with a guy that says that about you.

  15. Embiid is the most overrated player in the league.

    – The best team he's beaten in the playoffs is the 2022 5th seed Raptors led by Siakam and FVV

    – He averages 22 PPG on 49.2% TS in elimination games (a 9 game sample size)

    – In NO playoff run has he ever averaged more assists than turnovers

    – He is the ONLY MVP in league history to never make the conference finals

    – Last season, he had the biggest PPG drop from the regular season to the playoffs of any MVP winning season

    – He turned the ball over 8 times in back to back elimination games against the Hawks in 2021

    – He's shot under 20% from three over his last two playoff runs

    – He had a worse eFG% than Russell Westbrook during the 2023 playoffs

    – All of his offensive numbers (PPG, RPG, APG, TOs, FG%, 3P%, FT%) are worse in the playoffs than in the regular season aside from FT%

    – He has only won ONE playoff series in his career where he played in all four wins(2022 vs. Toronto)

    – He is 0-3 in game 7s and has posted a 49% TS and 5.3 TOs a game in those 3 games

    – Over the last two seasons, he has a 9.2 BPM in the regular season (box plus minus) and a 1.0 BPM in the playoffs

    – WORST OF ALL: HE IS 9/38 IN
CLUTCH SITUATIONS DURING HIS PLAYOFF CAREER, WITH AN UNFATHOMABLE TS% of 35.7%

I don’t understand why he is seen as an undisputed top 5 player. Other superstars get much more flack for laying an egg in the playoffs than he does (Tatum, Booker, Giannis & Lebron before they won their titles, etc.)

  16. i think the 76ers should move on from james harding because in my opinion he has pass his best playing days

  17. I expect a substantial drop off now that he has the mvp. He made it clear thats what he was playing for so now he doesnt have any motivation.

  18. James Harden might be the biggest loser in history of this game. Amazing talent but the worst of the worst when it comes to winning mentality. You will NEVER win a chip with him as your leader. Embiid is wasting his good years over there and with his history, size and playstyle, you never know how many he has left

  19. Sorry, I disagree that the Sixers have a chance as long as they have Embiid. I am going to take the unpopular (at least with Sixers fans) stance that Embiid is the limiting factor on Philly. Hear me out:

Embiid likes to get the ball up high, near the three point line. This is probably the worst place for him to get the ball. While he is a good shooter for a center, this position puts him in a spot where he can't use his greatest advantages (his size and physicality). I've also noticed that Embiid, when he does try to back down opponents, often pushes from a high center of mass. I'm not sure if this is injury or not, but it nullifies some of his size advantage. Any high school lineman knows to go low to maximize your strength. I think this is a crucial factor in how some much smaller defenders are able to defend Embiid reasonably well (such as Horford). In fact, if you watch Horford, part of how he holds Embiid is he does drop his hips pretty low, thereby lowering his center of mass and giving him a lot more resistance to Embiid's high push.

The other problem with Embiid is his poor passing. Embiid is not a good passer and this allows teams to sell out more to defend him. Boston will send doubles at Embiid (which have often resulted in turnovers) because they aren't afraid of him making the right read and pass. Boston wins the playoff matchups because Embiid has never proved them wrong. Since Embiid likes to get the ball up high, this also lets teams defend him with a smaller defender (thereby negating the size mismatch that he could otherwise generate). Boston defends Embiid on the perimeter with one of their longer wings or guards (Tatum, Smart, Grant Williams, etc). Toronto defended him high with OG Anuoby (another strong, long wing). Atlanta tried, I think, with Deandre Hunter maybe? So this is something that the league has figured out.

The answer to me is pretty simple. Make Embiid play more and get the ball more in the low post where he can really dominate. If he gets the ball down low, then the lack of passing is not as bad since he can pretty well dominate anyone in that position. The other answer is for Embiid to work on making that cross-court read and pass. That would make it much harder to double him, especially if they get another shooter to go along with Maxey and Harris. I'm not saying that Embiid is a bad player by any means. But it's the way he plays/is used that is hurting Philly. I think if Philly plays him more down low where he can dominate, or if he learns to pass at half of Jokic's level, then the Sixers' odds of winning go up dramatically.

  20. the way Tyrese was explaining Joels leadership kinda sounded similar to how Kareem was depicted in Winning Time

  21. I think its funny lol how embiid looked like he was gonna be a crazy lob threat at kansas then gained all that weight and skill now is a completely different big

  22. A team led by Joel Embiid will never win a championship. Dude gasses out every post season and blames his teammates for his own shortcomings. Maxey deserves better.

  23. I’m so sick in the head lol I would love to see a lineup of Maxey,Middleton,Harris,Embiid and Lopez….Bucks get harden and Tucker
